What: The Riddler leads a merry band of adventurers on an epic quest for survival.

[You find yourselves in a crowded little dining room in 726 Anderson Lane, seated around a long table. There is a large grid laid out along the table, along with miniature figurines, pencils, papers, and multicolored die of different shapes and sizes. At the head of this table, hiding behind an elaborate screen is none other than your Dungeon Master, Edward Nigma.

The Riddler received this tabletop RPG as a stocking stuffer this past Christmas, and after two months, it's finally time to put the game to good use.

[What will you be exploring, dear adventurers? Will you find yourselves in the midst of a disgusting cave, preparing to hunt down the vicious Black Bat that's been terrorizing the good people of a nearby town? Or will you chance a visit to the poor little town in order to enlist the aid of the most brilliant wizard known to man...?]

When do we get to meet the Black Bat?

O-oh, opps. I'm supposed to talk as my character, aren't I? Ahem.

[He tries deepening his voice a little. But considering his squeaky British accent the results are less then successful.]

"Perhaps if we find this wizard he will be able to tell us more about this terrifying creature."

The town you've found yourself in is rather large and densely populated. The most popular spots in town include a local inn for the weary traveller and a nearby tavern that draws in all manners of people. There's a good chance the wizard may be found at one of these locations.

I think we should try the tavern first. If the wizard lives there, why would he stay at the inn?

The tavern is where you usually get your information from anyway, right? We should start there.

"Lead the way, friend!"

[Luke is so into this, it's adorable. So of course, Ema's going to enable him to keep it up.]

All right, let's go to the tavern to find information!

[There come two loud knocks on the table, especially so because the knocker has somehow managed to get himself a pair of gold gauntlets from an unknown source.]

Hey, Wiz. You home?

[Slugger grins across the table at Edward.]

I'm here to see the Wizard. The wonderful Wizard of Oz.

[Edward jumps a little bit at the loud noise, but continues undaunted.]

The door remains tightly shut, but after a moment, the sound of an incredibly charming voice can be heard from inside:

"If it is the Wizard you wish to see,
then you'll have to answer these riddles three."

[Dammit.]

But Wizard. The evil Bat Gouma could appear at any time. We must act quickly.

"Of course! You must make haste if you wish to defeat it. But have you any idea how? You need answers, traveller? So do I."

[With his sword, that's how he'll defeat it! But of course, Edward has to slip riddles into everything somehow.]

Alright, I'll... try.

"Very well, then. Here is your first riddle:

'What is it that everyone does at the same time?'"

[Ema's found the wizard. And wow, is she not amused by him.]

Edward, Marie has the highest Intelligence score in the whole party. Can't we just say she solves these riddles and move on?

You seem to have gotten the Wizard's attention, Marie, for he pauses and asks, "What's this? Do I hear the voice of an enchanting young maiden amidst your party?"

[Well, we had to have seen this coming.]

[Ema gives him a long Look. This is supposed to be a game, not an excuse for him to hit on her.

But if he wants to play it that way, then fine. She'll play.]

Anyone who knows this Wizard would be sure to tell you that his is the most brilliant mind across the land. He's exceptionally skilled, deviously clever, and wickedly handsome.

WOULD HE CALL HIMSELF THESE THINGS?

Would he call himself Edward?

He would call himself a great many things. Genius being one of them.

AND HE LIVES ABOVE A TAVERN....

OH DEAR.
