Who: Ambrosia Gray and YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOU!
What: Bonfire!
Where: Makeout Point.
When: Now!
Warnings: Should be fairly safe.
[ With the fire getting steam, Ambrosia sits back at a safe distance with her hands up a bit. The last time she held any kind of bonfire like this was years ago, but with how things were in Mayfield, she thought that there was a need to have at least some kind of party, however small it may be. ]
Hope ye don't mind if I brought a few extra people, pop 'n mum. Thought tha' ye'd like it.
[ Mingle among yourselves - she won't mind. As long as people are having fun, that's what counts. ]

Ye know, I ain't mad fer th' drone stuff. This town likes t' screw with people 'n unfortunately, it decided t' screw with ye. Ye couldn't control it.

[His eyes look around at the crowd then back at Ambrosia.]
You said to get things off our chests right?
no subject
[ But, she pauses and decides to wrap her arm around him with her hand on his head in an affectionate way. ]
Don't think so negative, 'kay? I've been there before, 'n lemme tell ye - it ain't so pleasant t' try t' get yerself out of tha' spot.

I'll work on that. I wanna say somethin'...you know, into the fire. It's believed that the spirits can hear through it but, heh, I always thought that was some hokey legend. Now...I'm kinda believin' it right now.
[He turns his head toward the fire and takes another pull from the bottle before he says what's on his mind.]
We never knew each other but...if you're listenin', I'm doin' a'right. I wonder...you know, what you look like.
Heh, I wonder where I get my eyes from.
[He lowers his gaze.]
Anyway, I got my eye on a girl. I think you'll like her. She's shy but sweet. Been thinkin' 'bout askin' her seriously to be mine. I just hope that dronin' didn't ruin it. Heh, if I had any siblings that'll be cool. Guess I'll never know the answer to that huh. Well, I guess that's all I gotta say. I'm never really good with this sort of stuff.
[He looks away from the fire and turns his head away from Ambrosia for a moment.]
Sorry.

[ While Varon's talking into the fire, she just watches on with her rum. The least she can be is respectful to him while he gets some stuff out in the open. ]
Don't gotta be sorry, I've done th' same thing, only tha' I talked with me own parents 'bout things in me life.
no subject
[He takes another pull from his beer to keep from crying about it. He hated complaining about anything and he hated whining even more.]
That droning...I must've been a sap. Do me a favor an' put me out of my misery.
no subject
[ Like what she did today and she does feel better. ]

The years spent alone as a child from the time he was in kindergarten to the present as a social outcast took its toll on him. The years hiding his tears through outbursts of anger and hatred didn't seem to quell the rising pressure from the emotional waters behind the thick concrete that he built up.
Pushing people away but saying that everything was fine, telling people that they were the wuss when in fact it was him hiding through a condescending sneer. Cracks began to surface the moment he met Fujino here in this town. Ambrosia gave it that final hit with her kindness through her tough but genuine veneer. The damn finally broke.
On his hand, a single tear drop...followed by another. He still hasn't looked up.
His face is contorted in the the pain that he feels not only for himself but the others he hurt along the way toward his path that he thought was to glory. Instead, it was a path of destruction and for what? A nameless god? For a mad man that claimed to give two cents about a life of an orphan? He felt lost...alone.]
no subject
Ssh, ssh... It's gonna be okay now, all right? No one's gonna hurt ye now - not while I'm here.
[ Her hands rub at his back, her head on top of his own in a kind gesture. ]
no subject
His eyes are shut tight, blocking out everything around him. His head rests against her shoulder with his chin still down. His sobs are forced back and he's unable to speak. He hears the comfort in her voice and acknowledges it with a nod.]
no subject
Her hands move up his back to move through his hair - just like her parents used to do when she was upset.
She's not going to leave you, Varon. Not now, not ever. ]
no subject
Calming down he opens his eyes and wipes his tears with his thumb. It felt like a lanced blister and the pressure finally lifts. He breaks from the embrace slowly, his chin still down but he is able to look at her with what feels like new eyes.]
Gah, why does it sting when it's supposed to be just fluid that washes the eyes?
[sniffles]
no subject
'Cause ye've let a lot of pent-up feelin's out - tha's why.
no subject
[He lets out a soft chuckle from the small play on words. Taking the cloth to wipe his face, he picks up his beer and takes a swig.]
Nothin' like a lancing, eh?
[That's exactly what it was to him. Purging the hurt really put into prospective to him that he really has a long way to go.]
no subject
[ She chuckles and nods, plopping right back down on the ground. ]
Heh... Aye. But, ye wanna know somethin'? I'm quarter of a century old 'n I still make me own mistakes. Don't be afraid t' do th' same 'cause there'll be people there t' help ye out in th' end.
no subject
[He slides off the bench and takes his seat across from Ambrosia and sits Indian style.]
It's funny that here, I'm this kid and there's so many expectations that I can't keep up. There's image, manners, now a family that's kinda there and a house. I'm not livin' in some building with utilitarian creature comforts you know.
I mean it seems ideal but it's only on the surface. Made me think of all the shit I've done...and how many people come home to an empty bed at night. Wives grievin' for the lost husbands, sisters that lost brothers, mothers that lost their sons...yeah, I was responsible for some of that shit. Kinda makes you think, you know.
no subject
Out of th' stuff here, I've only been used t' manners when it comes t' me parents as well as a family. No house since th' Mary was our home 'n image? Well, we really didn't care much fer tha' since, ye know, pirate 'n all.
But, I hear ye on tha' kind of stuff. I'm normally used t' bein' on land fer 'round a couple days t' a few weeks, dependin' on what I need t' accomplish. I've done me own fair share of shit tha' I ain't proud of 'n I still try t' live in th' here 'n now. Yet, I still struggle with tha' kind of thinkin'.
[ A smile shows next as she chuckles. ]
Though, I think me strugglin' with stayin' in th' present is done 'cause I talked it out with my, well... boyfriend. His name's Marvelous 'n I'd think ye'd like him, but he helped me out in more ways than one.
no subject
[He grins. People like them never were for long.]
Guess it's better to come clean with my intentions then. Ever since I got here, I met this girl...Asagami Fujino. She's really cute and damn hot but shy as hell. I think if I were to fall into normalcy here, it'd be with her. I think she likes my arms.
[He chuckles and takes a pull from his beer.]
She saw me cuttin' up my shirts.
no subject
[ Hey, at least she's chuckling. Though, that may be the rum talking. ]
Well, hey - if ye like her, I'd go fer her! There aren't too many fish in th' sea 'n I think ye'd be a good match for her. 'N, hey, I think a nice strong scalywag like yerself would help her get out of bein' so shy.
[ At the arms comment, all she'll do is give a nod of approval. Credit's given where it's due and all. ]
no subject
[He smirks then he gets that thinking face again.]
Ya really think so? I mean, bein' a good match for her an' all. She's pretty smart when she's actually open.
no subject
[ She nods and gives a smile towards Varon. ]
'Course. She could be th' ground ye need t' stay afloat. Marvelous is like tha' fer me 'n I'm really grateful fer meetin' him.
no subject
[He nods and agrees with everything she said so far.]
I just hope that when the time comes that I'll be able to...oh wait, gotta question. Are ya stayin' with Marvelous or are ya havin' to see each other separately?
no subject
[ Have a Kanye shrug, Varon. ]
I actually got put in his house, so we live together. I gotta say tha' th' town's clever when it needs t' be. I mean, what are th' odds of two pirates livin' under th' same roof?
no subject
[He looks absentmindedly into the fire while it licks the air. The sparks given off by the wood as it turns to ash made him wonder if he was going to vanish if he ever went home. Home...was there ever such a place?]
no subject
[ She stops to take into account of Varon's thoughtfulness for a moment before tilting her head. ]
Dobra fer yer thoughts?
