A beautiful summer day in Mayfield should never be wasted, even if they're all beautiful. So, why not stop by the pool for some food, drinks and games? And of course, swimming.

[April has managed to find herself a swimsuit to wear and is now just chilling in one of the chairs next to the pool. There's a few times where it seems like she's considering going into the pool, before deciding against it.]

[One of the times she chickens out from going in the pool, a wet and shirtless Cade comes up behind her.]

"You think about things too much. Some times it better to just jump into things."

Not when I can't swim...

[adventurerextraordinaire]

"OH! You can't swim? Because you don't know how or do you have some sort of anti-swim juju?"

[technologic]

I don't know how. I was never taught how to when I was a kid.

[adventurerextraordinaire]

"Well, it's pretty easy, really! Get in with me at the shallow end, I'll show you."

[wolfishsurvivalist]

Hey there, missy! What's the matter? Afraid of the water?

[Mika was horrible and had probably snuck up behind her by accident, but her tail wagged as she grinned down at April. If Mika was actually wearing a swimsuit, it was hidden by the lightweight long-sleeved blouse and knee-length trousers she wore.]

I don't see any sharks, so I'm sure you'd be safe.

[April blinks in surprise, but smiles back up at her.]

It's less 'afraid' and more 'I have no clue how to swim'.

What? No one taught you how?

[Mika looks stunned for a moment, her eyes huge as her ears twitched back before angling forward.]

Do you want someone to teach you or something?

[technologic]

Nope, I was never taught. It's cause my leg was really bad when I was little, so trying to swim made it cramp up.

[April tilts her head as she thinks over that.]

... Yeah, I think I would.

[Mika chews her lip, glancing around to make sure no one sees her while she does this.]

Okay, first thing's first, let's make sure we're in a spot where you can touch the bottom when you stand up.

Sooo... the shallow end of the pool, right?

[wolfishsurvivalist]

Yep! In you get, miss!

[She snaps her fingers and points, giving April a grin.]

I'll be in shortly to help you out. Won't be much good if I just sit on the side and shout at you, right?

[technologic]

[April laughs, but gives a nod and after a moment of hesitation, climbs into the pool.]

Right! And thanks, Mika.

Any time. Swimming's a pretty useful thing to learn.

[Tail wagging, she finds a spot to shed her shirt and trousers, sliding into the pool before anyone can get a good look at her scars. Making sure her hair is tied up, she pushes off the bottom and swims over to April.]

Okay, there's two basics. Kicking, and pulling. Pretty simple in theory, not too hard in practice. You ready?

Ah, um, y-yeah, I'm ready! [She nods, though she looks a bit nervous.]

[waiting_for_the_worms]

[Well, when in Rome... Kariya's just hanging out poolside for the time being too. He's managed to find himself a swimsuit that's not completely embarrassing.]

Hey, April.

[Giving a small wave as he walks up.]

[April blinks over at him, and gives him a smile and a wave back.]

Hi, Kariya! How're you?

I've been all right. Getting used to Mayfield, I guess. How are you doing?

[technologic]

I've been alright. Just been training Bernie and trying not to melt in the heat, since summer was never this warm back home.

[waiting_for_the_worms]

I'm surprised you're not in the pool, then.

[technologic]

[Her expression turns sheepish as she rubs the back of her neck.] Aha, I would be if I, uh, could swim...

[waiting_for_the_worms]

Well, you could still wade around in the shallow end.

[technologic]

Ah, n-nah, I think I'll just sit on the side. Cause knowing my luck I would slip or something. [Since it isn't like she's scared of somehow drowning or something.]
