A beautiful summer day in Mayfield should never be wasted, even if they're all beautiful. So, why not stop by the pool for some food, drinks and games? And of course, swimming.

Ah, n-nah, I think I'll just sit on the side. Cause knowing my luck I would slip or something. [Since it isn't like she's scared of somehow drowning or something.]

Ah, r-really? I mean, I don't wanna bother you or anything...

It's no bother. This is a party, after all.

... Thanks, Kariya. [She gives him a soft smile before she stands up.] ... We can just stay in the shallow end, right?

Sure, that's fine. It's a little crowded for you to be learning how to swim right now, after all.

Y-yeah, and knowing my luck I would probably end up kicking someone or something. [And so after a few moments of hesitation, she'll be climbing into the shallow end of the pool. She still looks a bit uncertain, though that's mainly due to having never really been in the pool much before.]

[Kariya smiles, following her in and letting her take her time.]

See, not so bad, right?

Ah, r-right! [She gives a small smile and nod as she moves through the water a bit.] It's, ah, been a while since I've done this so I guess I was kinda paranoid.

I'm sure it'll be fine as long as you don't go out too far.

Ah, okay. And I doubt I will, since the water further out into the shallow end is kinda high for me anyway. [The downsides of being short.]

The water really is nice and cool, though.

[Don't tell her that, or there would be all the flailing.] You're right about that. And now I don't feel like I'm gonna melt into a puddle or something.

Ehe, yep! And I think I'll need to come here more often during the summer, since this does feel really nice.

You can relax a little more when it's not so crowded.

Yep, and then I wouldn't be so nervous about wearing a swimsuit if there weren't many people around.

[He does glance at the scarring for just a moment, but hell, it's a damn sight better than what he looked like before Mayfield scooped him up, so that comment is met with a shrug and a shake of the head.]

I wouldn't worry about that too much.

[There is a moment where she tenses up when he glances at the scarring, but the shrug makes her relax again.]

Yeah. You look fine. I think as long as you're not calling attention to it, nobody else will really think twice about it either.

[She nods and gives a quiet sigh of relief.]

That's good. I've always been pretty nervous about showing them, but it's good to know people won't really notice them.

With all the aliens and other things in Mayfield, I don't think anyone would even look twice.

Ehe, yeah, you're right about that. Someone with a lot of scars probably looks normal compared to some of the people we have here.
