PROM, PART 2

Because he can't stop himself from making a movie reference, the theme of this year's Prom is "Enchantment Under the Sea". (Don't get too freaked out, Marty McFly.) Equipment has been moved out, seating has been set near tables and walls, and a makeshift stage has been constructed to host the DJing equipment. Quinn has music up until 2010, so a large variety of music will get played. There's plenty of food and drinks - including spiked, and very-much-not-spiked punch (magically protected, thanks to Ilsa). In a corner is a small set up for people who wish to get their photos taken by Tsukasa.

The party is under way - have yourselves a good time, Mayfield!

"Damn. I thought that might work."

It takes a lot to try and trick me into doing something I don't want to.

"So you really don't enjoy dancing in any way, shape, or form?"

Well, I have heard someone describe a battle or fight as a type of dance. I do enjoy those.

"Hmmm... When I stayed among the Or-tel-quessir in the Great Shroud of Athair, I did learn a very interesting dance they used to train pairs of warriors to fight in perfect harmony with each other..."

[Cade scans about, but frowns. Most of the women (and men) he'd befriended here were not warriors. Not that Cade didn't try to make friends with the fighter-types, but it seemed they almost always had too little patience to put up with the fop.]

"The dance requires sharp reflexes, nimbleness, dexterity, and the ability to sync ones movements in harmony with their partner. Otherwise we'll just end up tripping over each other or worse.

Do you know if anyone here can manage that?"

Well there is Hawkeye, but I doubt Mustang would want her dancing with anyone else. Maybe Mustang will dance with you. Although, he might not be as sharp as his lieutenant.

[She might be trying to bite back a chuckle at the idea of him and Roy dancing together.]

[Cade is very straight, but has been through too much as a bard to think anything is too "gay" (except like, making out with this guy or something). Though he'd probably enjoy it a lot more if it was a woman he was dancing with. And even more so if that woman was Olivier... oh well.

He just shrugs.]

"I'd be fine with either, if they are. The sharper one would be better."

[She chuckles.]

You get either one of them to dance with you, and I'll agree to one dance.

"Ah, splendid! Where can I find them? Do you see them?"

[Riza is not particularly keen on this whole "prom" event, but she's tagged along dutifully, since Roy was acting as a chaperone. She's no idea that Olivier has essentially set her up with a dance partner as she is currently standing against the wall and watching the younger children dance with a bemused smile.]

[She is approached by a very handsome, well-dressed gentleman she does not know. He bows slightly before her and offers his hand.]

"Pardon me, miss, but General Armstrong told me to find someone called Hawkeye for a demonstration. Would that be you?"

[General Armstrong triggered this request? This seems suspicious.]

What demonstration would that be?

Do you think you'd be capable of this?"

[What is this dancing. She doesn't really dance.]

I truthfully don't dance very much. I don't know if I am going to be the best partner for this exercise...

"Well, Olivier lead me to believe that you are a skilled warrior... is this not true?"

I think that's her across the way.

[She points across the room, then leans back against the wall.]

"Alright then, I'll go get her!"

[Strides on over to the lovely young woman.]

[She just watches, waiting for him to crash and burn.]
