Because he can't stop himself from making a movie reference, the theme of this year's Prom is "Enchantment Under the Sea". (Don't get too freaked out, Marty McFly.) Equipment has been moved out, seating has been set near tables and walls, and a makeshift stage has been constructed to host the DJing equipment. Quinn has music up until 2010, so a large variety of music will get played. There's plenty of food and drinks - including spiked, and very-much-not-spiked punch (magically protected, thanks to Ilsa). In a corner is a small set up for people who wish to get their photos taken by Tsukasa.

The party is under way - have yourselves a good time, Mayfield!

[Cade arches his brow.]

"Is that so? You know, you don't talk about yourself much. Not that you have to, of course.

But I'm always happy to listen."

[There's that smirk again.]

And you talk too much. A bit like a yappy puppy.

[She actually doesn't mind all that much.]

When we get out of here and that brat Lucy's dead who's to say we'll ever see one another again.

[Her eyes look over to meet his again.]

Don't you think that'd make us all getting chumming a big liability?

[She's already lost so many. Actually, she's lost everyone. She doesn't want to set herself up for heartbreak again.]

[Cade's no stranger to that himself. Either because of just having to pack up and leave a place, never to return, or from the many friends he made and lost in the liberation of Silves, Cade has had to say his share of goodbyes.

He gives her a bit of a wistful look, as she makes him remember something Leon once taught him.]

"The only thing that lasts forever are legends and legacies, Jenny. To be afraid to care about or love someone because you'll have to say goodbye one day is probably the saddest tragedy I've ever heard. Despite all the people we say our goodbyes to, they are never truly lost as long as we keep a part of them in our hearts and minds."

Sweet sentiments, but what happens when you don't want to leave?

[The occurrences in her own life can easily be mirrored by mistakes one could easily make here. The choices to trust, to love or believe in someone. The risk is just too great to take.]

It's playing into that little bitch's hand. Growing roots here is giving yourself a death sentence. Any good soldier knows that.

"I'm not afraid to say my goodbyes. When the opportunity comes to set everyone free, I will take it.

From what I've heard, everything that that Demon lass has done has been to make people suffer or turn into emotionless... constructs. Being afraid to love while we're here is just playing into her hand more, wouldn't you say?"

No, I wouldn't. It's keeping your mind on the work.

[She knows how powerful feelings can be. They're what kept her fighting when she was alive. Her love of humanity and her need to protect it. It's what practically killed her when she'd been forced to chose between the people on the station and John.]

The little bitch wants us to be an episode of leave it to beaver. We start to have feelings, we lose our reason to get the hell out of here. We lose that and we start to get complacent. And when that happens .... the bitch wins.

"If we have feelings for each other, wouldn't we want each other to be happy and do everything in our power to open the path to freedom?"

[Cade's still an idealist, and this is the way his mind works, anyways. Also, he has no idea what the hell Leave if to Beaver is.]

Not everyone thinks that way Masters. Some will do whatever it takes to be with the ones they care about. Especially if the one they care about is dead in their world.

[And there it was, the clincher to all her arguments. How many of these people were already dead? How many were living on borrowed time that they shouldn't be?]

"Well... I don't really understand that way of thinking, but I don't expect everyone to think the same way I do. Wouldn't want them all to."

[Cade looks a tiny bit sad. He's realizing that he's probably not going to get you to enjoy tonight.]

[Jenny can tell. Cade wears his emotions on his sleeve. Aft er a few moments she sighs and slaps Cade on the back before pulling a small travel sized bottle of vodka from her dress. (Yes, she had it hidden down that front.)]

Come on Masters, let's go spike the punch.

[Cade chuckles.]

"Oh?"

[He leans in, smiling.]

"This makes you a terrible chaperone, you know that?"

[He winks.]

"Unfortunately, Ilsa already spiked one bowl heavily, and cast a spell to keep the second one pure. ...BUT there's nothing saying that you and I can't share that bottle, eh?"

[Jenny doesn't like her fun ruined, not that she's really having much fun anyway.]

Alright Masters, let's go take a walk.

[Cade nods.]

"Okay!

Where we walking to?"

[She shrugs]

Who knows, we'll get there when we get there though.

[Cade nods and follows along.]

"Alright, lead on."

[Cade thinks Jenny is the type who likes to feel in charge, so he'll let her figure this one out.]

[The funny part about that is that Cade would be dead wrong about that. Jenny's just used to being thrown into that area after 100 years of it happening to her.

She leads him up to the roof, to the edge before sitting down and dangling a leg over. She leans back against the wall and stairs up at the stars, offering up the bottle.]

You seem to be adjusting well.

"To what? This town? This actually isn't the first time I've been trapped in a city with all kinds of weird stuff going on."

[Cade takes the bottle and sits next to her, taking a swig.]

Really?

[The brow raises again as she takes the bottle and drinks some.]

Do tell Masters.

"Well, back when its just Vadim and myself, a lady friend of mine asked me to look into what happened to her brother. He was supposed to travel to the town of Turien on business and return home within a tenday. He hadn't returned, and she couldn't close up shop to go look for him, so she asked me to go find him..."

[Jenny closed her eyes and swung her leg, listening to his story.]

"So we follow the road there, and it got foggy. Really, really, foggy. So foggy, I couldn't even find Vadim anymore, and he had been standing right next to me! For hours, I wandered about in the unnatural mists, not even sure what way I was walking."

[A small smile curled over her lips.]

Brigadoon.

"Hah, I wish! We've the story of Brigadoon where I'm from too, and this place was not so nice.
Though I have met elves claiming that such a place as Brigadoon actually exists..."

[Her brows narrowed in thought.]

You have a suspicious number of similar stories in your world.

"Yeah, I noticed that. I've also gathered (from talking to many different people of Earth) that many towns that exist where you are from, exist where I am from, too. And many of my Kingdoms are like countries in your world, too. Athair isn't just like your Ireland, someone showed me a map of your Ireland and they are shaped identically! Same goes for Caislean and your England..."
