PROM, PART 1

Who: Everyone!
What: Mayfield Prom
Where: Rec Center
When: May 18 starting at 7:00PM
Warnings: ...Mayfield Prom.
The log will be split into two entries to keep the size manageable. In this thread is the Dance Floor, Food & Drinks Table, and Outside/Around the Rec Center!
---
Because he can't stop himself from making a movie reference, the theme of this year's Prom is "Enchantment Under the Sea". (Don't get too freaked out, Marty McFly.) Equipment has been moved out, seating has been set near tables and walls, and a makeshift stage has been constructed to host the DJing equipment. There's plenty of food and drinks - including spiked, and very-much-not-spiked punch (magically protected, thanks to Ilsa). In a corner is a small set up for people who wish to get their photos taken by Tsukasa.
The party is under way - have yourselves a good time, Mayfield!
/shakes head slowly
I couldn't do that, someone might ask me to dance.

little trollCain that everyone must love! Her expression softens at that.]
You're not afraid of catching cooties now, are you?
no subject
Is that a common affliction at dances?
no subject
Not at all. Do you really not know what that is, or are you playing dumb? [be honest here for once... :T!]
no subject
I've never heard of it before, perhaps they came up with a cure and vaccine before my time?
no subject
She'll explain with her usual chipper self, then.]
I was teasing you with that, actually. Cooties is a make-believe contagious disease that young children have made up. It's said that if you touch someone of opposite gender, you'll catch it. Girls do tend to play with girls and boys also tend to play with boys, after all. [a nicer way of saying gender split in kids, yes...]
no subject
But why? The sex of your playmates is no guarantee as to their personality or compatibility with you as a friend.

Of course, you could just be agreeing with me to lure me into a false sense of security. Then when my guard is down, you're infect me with cooties.

[Silliness will make her forget that he's lurking like a creeper, right?]
no subject
[He gets a gold star for trying, at least!]
no subject
[Nope, not moving from his branch ever.]
People might still try to get me to dance.
no subject
[is she getting this straight?]
no subject
[Actually, he's never attempted to dance before, but that's beside the point.]
no subject
no subject
[He would probably do the chicken dance. And love it.]
no subject
no subject
[Which is true, they can't have missed someone that they were never expecting to attend the prom, right?]
no subject
Just out for some fresh air, then?
no subject
And to watch the dancers, of course. You don't have to wait out here with me, I'll find my own way in when I'm ready.

Not at all, you know I always enjoy spending time with you, Miss Ciel.

actually hoping that the innocuous request would pass, whether by Cain's autopilot politeness or how harmless joining him sounds. because if she gets up there, that would allow her to perhaps also catch a glimpse of what he's so hellbent on seeing. she already has her doubts, and his reassurances aren't really making those fade...
On the surface though, she'll easily chuckle that flattery off.]
I am here mostly as a chaperone, so I can't be away for too long. Don't worry, I won't pester you for the rest of the evening. [That said, after giving the tree he's in a quick glance...
She'll step aside and circle the tree once to pick out a good branch close to his, before leaping up and lodging herself in a good position with one jump. Was her carefully watching her the whole way through? Because that took less than a second and would have been very easy to miss. He has seen her jump rooftops before so this shouldn't be surprising, but well, still.]
no subject
Really? Who are you chaperoning?
[It's not too hard to see who he might be spying on, there's Abel and Aurora raiding the food table like gluttons.]
