PROM, PART 1

Who: Everyone!
What: Mayfield Prom
Where: Rec Center
When: May 18 starting at 7:00PM
Warnings: ...Mayfield Prom.
The log will be split into two entries to keep the size manageable. In this thread is the Dance Floor, Food & Drinks Table, and Outside/Around the Rec Center!
---
Because he can't stop himself from making a movie reference, the theme of this year's Prom is "Enchantment Under the Sea". (Don't get too freaked out, Marty McFly.) Equipment has been moved out, seating has been set near tables and walls, and a makeshift stage has been constructed to host the DJing equipment. There's plenty of food and drinks - including spiked, and very-much-not-spiked punch (magically protected, thanks to Ilsa). In a corner is a small set up for people who wish to get their photos taken by Tsukasa.
The party is under way - have yourselves a good time, Mayfield!

She's trying to take his brother from him, trying to take what belongs to him, he won't miss a second of this.]
I couldn't even go in for food, people are waiting to ambush me and make me dance, and I've said I really can't do that. I'm more than happy watching from up here.
no subject
She can tell something's bothering him, she already doesn't buy the 'afraid to dance' excuse. But what's the real reason...?]
You're making an awfully big deal out of it, Cain. There are actually a lot of wallflowers inside, some people do prefer to chat by the tables or keep to themselves instead of socializing too much. I'm sure that you won't get asked out of nowhere by a random person right away. [hm...] Unless you're expecting anyone in particular?
[She'll crack his excuse a little more without breaking it. That's the plan for now; she'll close in on the real problem later.]
no subject
He tears his gaze away for a moment to look at Ciel, putting on a thoughtful expression and sighing in a mock mournful manner.]
I'm just so popular, Miss Ciel, there could be hoards of people waiting to ambush me when I step through the doors.
no subject
a not very convinced look, but with a smile nevertheless. The fact that he has failed to provide a name only seems to add to the poor excuse, but hmm, there should be other ways...]
You could at least save me from the suspense and give a few names, Cain. I didn't know you were such a charmer. There's no drone attending, either. Did you meet the girls at school?
no subject
Taki, Miss Ako, Vivio, and Kyoya, to name just a few.
no subject
My, you've been busy. Did you step inside at all since you got here, then?
no subject
[AKA Aurora had seen him and he had to flee before Abel did too.]
no subject
let's let go of that, now.] Are you hungry or thirsty? I could bring you something out here, if you'd like?
no subject
There's really no need to worry, I've everything I need, you go back and enjoy the dance.
no subject
Hmm, are you sure? It really wouldn't be any trouble.. You're not cold out here, either? [Then let her fret some more...]
no subject
[The smile he gives her is as polite and perfect as ever, but there's a distinct look in his eyes that says he wants to be alone.]
I feel bad enough for keeping you from the party this long, I'd never forgive myself if you were gone much longer.
no subject
Okay, if you say so. And it's fine! I've been inside since before the prom even began. They won't miss me for a few more minutes. [No, not yet...
Her eyes fall back to where his gaze was once at.] You have a surprisingly clear view from here, but that's the food tables, isn't it? The dance floor is a bit further down. [Leaning forward a bit, admittedly just for show...] --Oh, is that your brother?
no subject
I think so, he's come with Miss Aurora.
no subject
Miss Aurora? Hmm, I think I've seen her around town before. Doesn't she teach at the elementary? Do you remember her as one of your teachers, Cain?
no subject
[His tone couldn't be more sincere and pleasant, it seems like he truly does like her and doesn't at all want to drown her in the punch bowl right now.]
no subject
A friend then, I see... [...hm.] They seem to be standing there for a while, now. Do you know if she came here with Father? I thought he would attend with miss Esther, but she told me she was on her own. Can you confirm, Cain? [JUST CURIOUS. Ladies love their gossip, okay!! Her expression is thoroughly thoughtful, here.]
no subject
Mmmhm, Miss Aurora asked him to go with her.
no subject
G A S P
Ciel'll even go the extra mile and cover her mouth with a hand, how about that. Abel isn't the only one prone to dumb dramatics at times, for better or worse to Cain's mentality...
No she just looks ~*~SUPER SHOCKED~*~!! nothing too over the board with that, right...]
E-eh?! Really?!?
no subject
Seriously?
He had thought her above random gossip like this, but then he had also been surprised to find out she believed in religion, so what did he know?]
Really and truly, I think she likes him.
[How did he not grimace when he said that? His poker face is impressive.]
no subject
...No but really, for a sharp boy he's falling for her ploys of stupidity pretty often too, though then again, she DOES get a kick personally out of acting like an airhead, SOMETIMES...
Gonna keep looking at him
in vaguely appalled disbelief
...
No okay she's just going to giggle heartily now, give her a second.]
Ah, hahaha--! My, oh my. Are you truly serious, Cain? That's a bold statement! You're not just pulling my leg again, are you? [Now she just seems to be horrendously amused on her own, w h e l p. ...Well. There could be worse reactions, right?]
no subject
He leans back against the rough bark of the tree, folding his arms and chuckling along with her to fit in and make her less suspicious.]
I know, it is pretty unbelievable, right?
no subject
With all due respect to your brother, Cain, I'd feel a bit sorry for miss Aurora. Does she have any idea what she's getting herself into? ...Ah, not speaking badly of either, but I see Father often at the Church, so maybe I know his bad habits a bit better than the average person?
[HOW SILLY, TRULY...]
no subject
I don't think anything will come of it, perhaps she'll realise her mistake in choosing him before long.
[Or she'll back off because she thinks Abel is gay, one of the two.]
no subject
[still looking too amused and Cain why...]
no subject
[He's a little defensive of his brother's abilities. He can tease Abel, but then he knows it's a tease.]
