No one is alone
Who: Kariya Matou, Lancer, Rin Tohsaka, residents of 1666 Nelson Street, and all of Rin's friends.
What: A party to prove to Rin that she has friends.
Where: 1666 Nelson Street.
When: Saturday afternoon.
Warnings: Possible tsunsplosion. Action tags to keep things going.
With the help of Lancer, Kariya had managed to get in touch with all of Rin's friends, acquaintances, and anyone else who views her in the slightest favorable light. The party had been thrown together somewhat at the last minute, but since it's really just a gathering of friends, there actually wasn't that much specific planning to do. There's plenty of food and drink - both alcoholic and non - set up in the kitchen and dining room area, and a separate table for anyone bringing presents to set them down. Apart from that, he's just sitting there with the assembled group of Rin's friends, waiting for her to arrive.

That only works on children, ze. Or are you a child?
You want effort, I'll give you effort.
no subject
My, I didn't take you as the type to be feisty. [ Rin, do you know who you're talking to? ] You're going to prove I'm worth the best of your efforts, right?
totally make me edit this if you're not cool with it - taking some liberties
Actions speak louder than words, pretty girl.
[And so she pulls Rin's arm so the magus can grab onto Marisa's shoulder a moment late when the witch scoops her up in her arms bridal style. She flashes another grin before literally jumping backwards out the open window with Rin in her arms. Yes, they aren't high up, but there's still some distance there that would hurt upon falling.
There's nothing to worry about, though, as Marisa had called her broom and the timing was just right that her feet landed on the broom. Standing sideways upon it with the other girl held securely (and now wrapped in her flight magic) like her broom was a surfboard, the witch rocketed them into the sky, purposefully trailing yellow stars from the tail.]
Don't let go of me.
[Marisa cautioned that before using her newest regain, her Last Word spell: Blazing Star, to turn them into a comet to shoot across the sky. Encapsulated in the raw magic Marisa possessed, this was the purest sense of exactly how powerful Marisa was as a magician. She'd never shown Rin this level of power before.
In a few seconds, they slowed down and Rin could see they were now flying over the far end of Mayfield. Marisa was breathing only the slightest bit heavier than usual as she grinned down at Rin. That grin said four words: 'You asked for it'.]
And then I totally thought I replied to this :|
So when there's a scene of this nature present before her eyes, Rin can't help but find herself indulging in every moment of it. If she can reach out with her hand to try to grab at something (clouds, bits of magic in the air, etc), she'll do just that. ]
I should ask you to do things like this more often. [ Hee. ] Although now I have to pay you back for it sometime. Hm...

Anytime, Rin. There's not much here I care to show off for anymore. You're... kinda it, ze.
[There are ample little magic stars about them for Rin to grab and play with as Marisa holds Rin securely, none of them harmful but there is a tingle of the witch's magic in each one.]

[ That surprises her, but not enough to inquire about it. Rin's suffered enough loss to know that people come and go as quick as they show up in this place. Instead, she'll focus on the girl around her instead of those who might not be here. ]
I don't mind it then. I'd be jealous if anyone else got to spend time like this with you.

[She helps guide Rin to stand on the broom, one foot before each of Marisa's. The witch keeps her arms about the magus' waist to steady her, holding her back against the witch's front. There's no need to worry about falling as long as Rin doesn't fight Marisa's flight magic. She just can't sustain the reinforcement magic that long.]
no subject
Merem why.]I was told there was some kind of invisible war up in the sky so there's no way we can fly very far, huh?
no subject
Yeah... There's a barrier around Mayfield, so even up here we have our limits. Which sucks, ze. I like breaking limits and just going far, far, far... far beyond them.
At least it's peaceful up here. Away from everything else.

[ Rin doesn't bother to pull away from the other woman, choosing instead to rest her head against her own. Finding solace in this town was a rarity and Rin's not looking to ruin it anytime soon. ]
Breaking limits? That seems to be your kind of thing, ha.
no subject
Yeah... It's the only way humans in Gensokyo can get stronger. There's always the danger of breaking too far from the limit too fast and transitioning since the human body can only handle controlling so much, but I've found the line to walk.
I like being human, ze. Don't wanna be anything else.
[The broom rises up over Makeout Point before lazily circling back around. Marisa's in no hurry to take Rin back to the party.]

Magi in my world always want to reach that highest point. [ 'The Root' she should say, but being specific just raises more questions than answers, so she'll leave it with a vague response. ] In doing so, everything they will have ever wanted to know will be answered.
Although if I had to choose between power or being human... [ She sighs at the thought. ] I think I much rather be human.
no subject
I like that answer, ze. If you lose yourself to the power, then what's the point in having it, you know?
