A beautiful summer day in Mayfield should never be wasted, even if they're all beautiful. So, why not stop by the pool for some food, drinks and games? And of course, swimming.

[But her own bit of confusion is no need to be rude. Dakki gives him a cheery greeting as she comes back from a little bit of tending to the refreshments. She's in a silver-grey bikini and wearing sandals. So nice of the town to send her some of her own clothes.]

I have been to many parties before, but I never quite get how cheerful they are. Also, they lack enormous hats.

Parties are a reason to relax and do things that you don't normally do. Which a lot of people consider fun, hm?

[Then her expression gets a little perplexed, her brow furrowing. It's as though they're playing confusion ping-pong. ]

Only sometimes.

I can't recall very many parties here that have had... hats...

[She'd be worried that he's being much too serious and something was wrong, but... it's Garviel. He's always serious. Always.

I do not believe I have often been swimming.

[ he almost drowned once though. True story. ]

Ah... to be honest, me too. I've been to hot springs. And to the beach a few times... but I don't swim well.

[She looks awkwardly away.]

...I tend to sink.

Is your skeleton very dense? Mine is.

[It's asked with a wide-eyed, straightforward lack of awareness as to how bizarre the question is.]

Yes, it is bonded with plasteks and some metals, and the bone structure is also reinforced, also, my muscles are very dense. I can take small caliber rounds without even breaking the skin.

[She looks very impressed to hear that. And a bit awed, with a dash of delighted.]

Mine's a nanoceran alloy. The rest of me isn't nearly that dense... still. I don't float particularly well. It's a shame, it looks like it's a lot of fun, to swim...

Perhaps. It can be done, at least in my case, though the muscular effort is not insignificant.

And the point of this sort of swimming is to relax, not strain yourself...

We can always wade in the shallow end, right? The water's nice and cool and refreshing.

I suppose we could, at that, though I do nto feel discomfort from the heat at the moment.

It's still early yet. It might get warmer later! But hopefully not too much warmer, it'll melt all the ice at the refreshments table.
