[Hiling has been up for a while, but she just now decides to make her way downstairs.  She isn't aware of the holiday and so doesn't suspect anything unusual.  She goes to the kitchen and stands there with the refrigerator door open as she decides what she wants to drink.]

[As much as she would like to spend all day with her family that she loves so much, Hiling goes out to find her friends.  She decides to stop by the diner.  Perhaps she will find them there.  She goes up to the counter and has a seat as she looks around.]

I suppose. You also shot me... [He hadn't exactly appreciated that one, either. There had been even less of a reason.]

I was being foolish. I never want to hurt you again. Please believe me.

[It really was a good thing he'd gotten his Innovade physiology back before she'd done that, or he'd still be having problems with where she'd shot him.

He sighed.]

Fine.

[He'd believe her for today. If her actions were a result of what he thought they were, then this wouldn't last much past the stroke of midnight...]

I'll be in the other room if you need me. I don't want to get in your way.

[Hiling heads off, but not too far. She's happy to wait for him.]

[He sighed a little, slowly eating the fruit as he considered things. This was going to be an odd day...]
