Memory Corrupt General Log
Who: Everyone
What: Memory Corrupt Event
When: Friday, June 1st to Tuesday, June 5th
Warnings: Please put any and all warnings in subject headers.
[It's strange. You can't quite put your finger on it, but there's something different about today. Not only might you feel different but your families, your friends, practically everything is different.
Can you remember a moment more peculiar than this? Actually...
What do you remember?]

No, that's stupid. I jumped into a pool. [because clearly that's less stupid]
no subject
Why?
I mean, is this some kind of weird training thing, or what?
no subject
well
there goes trying to mask her true identity. If she had been sent ahead by Supreme Leader to scout this place out, she may have just jeopardized the entire mission. She can smell the broccoli mines already...]

[He seems to think on it for a moment, and then shrugs.]
I guess that's one way to try and get out of here.
[As far as he knows, maybe it is a way you travel in your world somehow. The idea that it may be some mirror-reflection doesn't automatically connect with him considering all the weird crap that could happen in his own world.
He's more confused by the way Negative 86 said it than what she said. Usually he'd expect 86 would just keep going and maybe deride him if he said something or continued to laugh. The bashfulness is kind of...weird. Or at least so open.
Still. It may be nothing. You did after all just jump into a pool with nothing happening (and he'll assume she did so out of wanting to go home more and more but he won't push that at the moment) so maybe you're just that more embarrassed.
He frowns a little.]
So are you just going to sit around in wet clothes or what? I mean I don't want to say you look stupid but...you look stupid.
[For God's sake, get dressed. Even if it's warm there's a chance you could get sick sitting around in wet clothes this whole time, let alone moping on the side of the road. Or fight with him.
Do something normal dammit.]

She tries to regain her composure, but her legs shake slightly as she stands.]
I don't know where to get any...
no subject
....Your house.
[Congratulations. Now he's suspicious.]
no subject
[She laughs awkwardly, rubbing the back of her neck.]
And, um... Where would that be, exactly?
no subject
Who are you?
[Because having her leave once nearly two years ago hurt. Having something happen to 86 that might have her replaced/leave a second time after having lost so many more people he cares about, and after prom, would be unbearable.]
no subject
[yeah, guess who's burst into tears and put her free hand in front of her face as if she expects to get punched
this girl right here]

Even if it's clear it isn't 86, he expected some kind of hostility. Not this...whimpering. And most times, even now, he could still go ahead and keep going strong with his own hostility. But even though it's so out of character for Frances, just the fact that it looked like her....If it was anyone elses' doppelganger he could keep his anger up.
But this just kind of hurts, somehow. And he loosens his grip, but only a little bit.]
...I'm not going to hurt you. Just...tell me who or what you are and what you want.
no subject
Negative Numbuh 86, and I don't know why I'm here! I guess the Supreme Leader sent me here somehow, but I don't know what for, and either way I've messed it all up and he's gonna send me to the broccoli mines and I don't want to go there-- [stop her. please.]
no subject
Shut up.
If anyone did this to you it was the town. It's some kind of crap it's throwing around.
[Which means you're probably near worthless in trying to figure out what's actually happened to Frances. Which just pisses him off beyond measure.]
no subject
I've got her memories for some reason-- which is not how the portal's supposed to work. So, I know some of the things she knows. [She tentatively looks up at him.] I know your name's Pokey, and I know she loves ya.
no subject
...That's weird, I guess. But the town had down dumber things. I mean.
[Wait, what?
In a lot of ways, that was the last thing he expected to hear, and the thing he'd like to hear the most. Which is why he can't just immediately believe it. You're some kind of weird doppelganger of her, after all. Maybe Negative 86 is trying to rely on the fact that she looks exactly like Frances and butter him up, using whatever affection he has for 86 to her advantage. After all she has to be smart enough to have caught he at least cared. It could just be a trick.
But even if it is....
He can't hide how bright red his face is turning right now, despite his best attempt to just look away. Those words, even if they are some kind of ploy...there's really nothing that could make him feel better.
After a short moment of complete silence, he speaks up.]
Look.
This place is dangerous. I'll show you where your house is. It should be safe, since this seems pretty mild for what the town usually does.
no subject
Thanks. I'm really sorry about all this.
no subject
Don't be. It's not you, it's the town.
[And he'll start to lead her back towards her house. It's still sort of awkward and freaky because while he guesses most people would find it pleasant that Negative 86 has such a better attitude than her Positive counterpart, it's kind of off-putting. It just doesn't mesh with how he views her.]
