PROM, PART 2

Because he can't stop himself from making a movie reference, the theme of this year's Prom is "Enchantment Under the Sea". (Don't get too freaked out, Marty McFly.) Equipment has been moved out, seating has been set near tables and walls, and a makeshift stage has been constructed to host the DJing equipment. Quinn has music up until 2010, so a large variety of music will get played. There's plenty of food and drinks - including spiked, and very-much-not-spiked punch (magically protected, thanks to Ilsa). In a corner is a small set up for people who wish to get their photos taken by Tsukasa.

The party is under way - have yourselves a good time, Mayfield!

[Not knowing that it's at random, Rin thinks he must assume she can't sing rock because she's a girly girl. He'd be wrong if that were the case, so she shrugs.]

Okay, just a moment... ♪

[Rin will rustle up a pen and divide up the lyrics between them.

In any case, this is going to be the most high-pitched cover of this song ever...]

[Only half is going to be high pitched. The other half is going to sound like a wanna-be Metal singer butchering this song into pieces, but that's neither here nor there. You'd never know it as he confidently looks over his half of the lyrics]

This'll be a piece of cake! I hope you're ready for a show.

Hey, I am the show! ♪

[Rin laughs. And heads toward the stage, because where else would you have a sing-off. Certainly not outside.]

[Well for two big stars like them, there's nowhere else to be! The stage is where he was meant to be, and he leaps onto it with enthusiasm]

Now this is more like it!

[Rin tosses him a mic from the corner of the stage and crosses over to be in the middle by him. She has one too, of course. Once they're up, the previous song fades out so that they can sing.]

[And here comes some guitars! Rin gestures at Black Star, since she gave him the first verse (so she can completely show him up after, of course.) ]

[He catches the mic with ease - and that's about as far as easy as his performance is going to get. Rin's plan is brilliant... but it's meant for somebody with training, or talent, or anything of the like]

[All he's got is passion, and he milks it for all his worth. His facial expressions are animated and his energy is boundless as he works the entire stage, but... nothing makes up for being out of tune]

It's true, this plan wasn't so good after all. Now Rin is pretty sure everyone is going to hate her guts for letting him have a mic with singing like that!

But after the initial double-take, she gets to dancing in the background with a plastered on smile and trying not to cringe too much.

Dear god, let it be over soon, please! She needs her human eardrums!]

[FINALLY IT'S HER TURN! She comes back downstage with her mic, a lot more professional but still working the whole stage with gusto. Which is extremely necessary, considering who she's sharing it with. Rin's version of the song is rather a bit prettier than usual, but she's doing her best to own it.]

The plan was to sing together in the last chorus.

She spends this time mentally steeling her nerves.]

[That may have been the plan, but Black Star has plans of his own]

[Thankfully, they involved getting the crowd involved, so when it comes back around to the shared last chorus, he simply aims his mic out at the crowd for them to sing along. After all, the biggest stars need to cater to their adoring fans, right? It's only natural to get them involved!]

[she will gladly go along with this change of plan. Hey, by the end it actually looks like she's having some fun. Good thing they cooperated though. Rin waves]

[He takes his bows and waves and lingers on the stage for a moment before hopping off, all smiles about his performance. Once Rin comes down as well, he'll congratulate her]
