PROM, PART 2

Who: Everyone!
What: Mayfield Prom
Where: Rec Center
When: May 18 starting at 7:00PM
Warnings: ...Mayfield Prom.
The log will be split into two entries to keep the size manageable. In this thread is the Stage, Wallflowers and King & Queen ceremony!
---
Because he can't stop himself from making a movie reference, the theme of this year's Prom is "Enchantment Under the Sea". (Don't get too freaked out, Marty McFly.) Equipment has been moved out, seating has been set near tables and walls, and a makeshift stage has been constructed to host the DJing equipment. Quinn has music up until 2010, so a large variety of music will get played. There's plenty of food and drinks - including spiked, and very-much-not-spiked punch (magically protected, thanks to Ilsa). In a corner is a small set up for people who wish to get their photos taken by Tsukasa.
The party is under way - have yourselves a good time, Mayfield!

...And don't be ridiculous, O'Hara. Given our profession and how I've spent the last several years as a detective, I would know if anything seemed the slightest out of place.

[ She pauses for a moment, but can't quite leave it be just yet. She's just making certain, okay. ] But you're sure, then? You're feeling alright?

I have all my limbs intact. There's not a mark on me to signify a kidney or other organs were removed. AND since Adrian Viccellio is doing hard time in a California prison I'm fairly certain I wasn't subjected to another amateur phlebotomy.
Are we satisfied now, O'Hara?

Okay, okay! No need to get testy, I was just making sure. Can you really blame me with all the weird things going on in here? Anyway, glad to hear at least that story seems to be just an urban legend.
[ Though she still has some lingering doubts, she's not going to push the issue. ] Did anything about the post office appear suspicious to you, otherwise?

Asked how the family was, made me sign a slip of paper that was covered with stamps, done. [ a shrug. ] But that doesn't necessarily mean something's out of place there.
It doesn't look like we'll get a lot of answers other than 'This is the greatest place to live!' from them anyway.

[ She sighs, her expression conveying both frustration and resignation. ]
But I'm inclined to agree, it seems like trying to get to the bottom of things with these natives is a waste of time. I'm starting to doubt they have the brain capacity for anything but platitudes and smiles. It's creepy.
[ She's quiet for a moment, thinking. ] We should look for alternatives that don't involve the people, strictly speaking. Another trip to the City Hall, maybe the library? There has to be some physical evidence about the state of things somewhere, some kind of archives or records.

[ He then scowls a little bit, thinking. ]
I get the feeling that if there is actually proof in the archives and records of the town, they probably don't want anyone finding it.
[ He then looks at O'Hara, a slight smirk on his face. ]
So what do you say partner? Look for this stuff and meet up somewhere private afterward?
no subject
I say 'when do we start'? Yeah, we could meet up in a few days and compare notes, see what we have on this place so far, I think we're overdue for a meeting anyway. You're probably right though, anything discriminating is probably hidden behind some serious lock and key.
[ She glances up at him solemnly. ]
It's safe to say whoever is responsible wouldn't take the risk of blowing the lid on an operation of this magnitude by leaving anything in plain sight.

As for meeting up, think Kenobi would have an issue of us commandeering the dining area at your house? We could use mine, but I don't feel like we should be in the company of the drones.

[ She purses her lips pensively, silently in agreement with Carlton's assessment as she watches the couples on the dance floor having a good time. At his question, she glances up. ]
I can't see why he would. But I'll ask him later tonight, if I can. It shouldn't be a problem, though, he's very accommodating and polite.
