PROM, PART 2

Because he can't stop himself from making a movie reference, the theme of this year's Prom is "Enchantment Under the Sea". (Don't get too freaked out, Marty McFly.) Equipment has been moved out, seating has been set near tables and walls, and a makeshift stage has been constructed to host the DJing equipment. Quinn has music up until 2010, so a large variety of music will get played. There's plenty of food and drinks - including spiked, and very-much-not-spiked punch (magically protected, thanks to Ilsa). In a corner is a small set up for people who wish to get their photos taken by Tsukasa.

The party is under way - have yourselves a good time, Mayfield!

That was an invitation to talk about what you like to do, Cade.

"Oh! It was? Well... story-telling, dancing, singing, sword-fighting, random acts of daring-do."

[Cade pauses and gives Virginia a sly smile, then edges toward her a bit.]

"But what I really like to do is make sure pretty ladies such as yourself are having a good time. So... what do you like to do?"

[bantorain]

-She can't help a laugh.-

You are trying WAY too hard.

"Well, it got you laughing, even if its at me, so I'll call it a win."

[Cade flashes her a cheesy smile.]

[bantorain]

How about we start with a dance, hmm?

[adventurerextraordinaire]

[Cade offers her his hand.]

"I think I've very much like that, Virginia."

[bantorain]

Well let's go, partner! -She grabbed the offered hand firmly.-

[adventurerextraordinaire]

[Cade leads her out onto the dance floor. The DJ, conveniently enough (probably thanks to Cade's Luck Blessed) begins playing some country rock right at that moment.]

[bantorain]

-Which was definitely something she could move to. Hopefully that Luck of his meant he could keep up.-

[adventurerextraordinaire]

[Cade doesn't need luck for that, he has agility, endurance, and natural talent, good for dancing and other things. He keeps up Virginia very well for someone who's never danced to country before.]

"Ha ha, you having fun?"

[bantorain]

Don't let it go to your head, but yeah. -She lets out a laugh.-

"Let it go to my head? Me?", he says with mock innocence, still dancing.

[bantorain]

I'm no stranger to you, Mr. Cade. This may be the first time we've spoken, but you've got a reputation that precedes you.

[adventurerextraordinaire]

[Cade arches an eyebrow at that, but he doesn't look terribly surprised.]

"Ohhh? And what are they saying about me?"

[bantorain]

I get the feeling you've a pretty accurate idea.

[adventurerextraordinaire]

"The problem is that I have too many of them. I'm sure different people have different things to say, good and bad."

[Cade smiles.]

"Whatever you've heard, I hope it won't keep you from giving me a fair shot."

[bantorain]

I do my own thinking, thank you kindly.

[adventurerextraordinaire]

[Cade smiles brightly at that as the two of you turn about to the music.]

"Good to hear it! I like a lady with an open mind!"

[bantorain]

Of course that also means I don't buy into your own hype.

[adventurerextraordinaire]

"I don't need you to! Surely, if you spend enough time around me you will be awestruck by what you see!"

[bantorain]

I wouldn't put money on that.

You're a nice guy, though.

[adventurerextraordinaire]

"Well, I certainly wouldn't want to be a mean guy! Though I guess I can be a bit mischievous sometimes."

[Cade gives her a wink and a smile.]

[bantorain]

I could tell that much already.

[adventurerextraordinaire]

[The song comes to an end and Cade stops dancing.]

"Well, it seems all my secrets are laid bare to you then!", he says in a playful manner. "Would you like to grab some goodies with me from the buffet table, and then we can go sit somewhere where you can tell me a bit about you, Virginia?"

Maybe some other time. I gotta get back to my post.
