PROM, PART 2

Because he can't stop himself from making a movie reference, the theme of this year's Prom is "Enchantment Under the Sea". (Don't get too freaked out, Marty McFly.) Equipment has been moved out, seating has been set near tables and walls, and a makeshift stage has been constructed to host the DJing equipment. Quinn has music up until 2010, so a large variety of music will get played. There's plenty of food and drinks - including spiked, and very-much-not-spiked punch (magically protected, thanks to Ilsa). In a corner is a small set up for people who wish to get their photos taken by Tsukasa.

The party is under way - have yourselves a good time, Mayfield!

Well, don't worry too much about that. The entire town's supply of alcohol is floating around in the shadows here. Seems I'm not the only one who needs a boost in morale.

As for my plans... hm, probably invest in a better Servant and rebuild my workshop to surpass the one I had back home. We don't know when this town will strike out against it's populace again and I would like to be prepared. I'm also going to try to learn a few skills that aren't related to magic. More defensive maneuvers than anything, but it'd be nice to start a fire by my own hands instead of magic should the time come.

I'd also like to learn how to use a sword. You refused to teach me the first time you were here, so I assume your answer will still be the same. Well, that's fine by me. There are plenty of others here I can learn from. The basics were taught to me for a few weeks by one person, but he's long since then left this place.

You don't say. [Forever traumatized by drunken Bazett. But he listens to Rin's plans carefully. Well, it seemed reasonable enough. Archer planned to respond to that last one with some careful bait-and-switch if only to ruin her interpretation based on his 'old self'

[Why would she suddenly want to invest in a 'better Servant'? Lancer didn't seem particularly ineffective, and Rin was probably practical enough to let him get his own Master when his status was restored. He was a pain in the ass, but Archer's own appearance shouldn't have warranted it. He wasn't ineffective enough for that if he was so protective of Rin like everyone had said.

And didn't she just imply she got stood up...

to resist facepalming and try to keep a blank expression. Even if there's a slight twitch to his eye. And he quietly, quietly hopes he is wrong. But considering his luck in Mayfield so far, he doesn't think that's quite likely.]

[And he flips RIGHT back into snark mode with the best poker face he can make. He'll just. Address the latest elephant in the room and his mind later when Rin's having less of a sour evening.]

Alright, alright. It seems like you won't let me hear the end of it if I refuse after saying that. I'll teach you what I can later on...but you are probably better off asking someone who sticks to one choice of weapon after I've told you what I can.

That's right. I'm notorious for grudges, don't you know? Besides, if you'll help me, I'll help you. We'll work together in the end, won't we?

Let's not talk about that now though. [ Folding her arms behind her back, she'll look up towards him. ] Social gatherings make you uncomfortable, don't they?

[Uncomfortable would be a massive understatement. Though not ENTIRELY for the reasons Rin might have been thinking of.]

Only considering the circumstances, here. I was never much of a social butterfly, anyways.

I don't like them either, but I'm glad you came. [ Not for dance-related reasons, since it's clear she's not going to bark up that tree. ] Now that you have a good idea of some of the sentient beings in this town, it will make talking about them easier.

Hm, I don't see any of the usual suspects of cruelty around though. That's a first. Maybe this year we have a really good chaperone.

Who knows? We can probably discuss the usual suspects once we're somewhere less lively.

[Speaking a little more seriously for a moment.]

There's enough to warrant a list, I take it?

If you think I'll surrender a list to you when you're not able to defend yourself, then I must ask you to forgive the stupidity my other self must have shown. I know exactly what you would do if you had that kind of information.
