[Kyon came into his house to sit on the couch after school, Haruhi not far behind. He took a glance at the flowers on the table. They'd just turned up yesterday out of the blue, like many things do in Mayfield. ... They didn't have that fragrance before now though, did they?]

"I- I don't know, anything!" She'll also look away from Kyon, feeling quite uncertain.

"L-like what!?"

[extraordinarily]

“L- like…” Haruhi faltered, her voice raising with each syllable, her face turning more red as each second passed by, “If you really l- love me or whatever!”

"Right, well, um... About that..." He can't quite deny that it's true, but there's no way he could possibly quite admit it, even to himself, either.

"... I think I need to go feed Shamisen?"

Kyon, you’re not getting away with it that easy! Haruhi raises a brow mischievously before – “Let me come with you then. After that, you have to answer my question!”

And to reaffirm that, Haruhi will grab Kyon’s necktie. It really is bad that he was wearing the North High uniform today, eh?

"Uh... Sure." Well, that's his plan foiled.

Just as planned. Haruhi’s eyes beam like the stars on Orion’s belt before saying, “Then let’s not dilly-dally. Time is money, and I don’t have a lot of either.”

"Not much time? What, are you dying or something?" On the plus side, he could avoid having that conversation. Regardless, he continues on home and gets the cat food for Shamisen.

“Of course not, don’t be stupid. There’s only twenty-four hours in a day until the reset.” By reset, she means the day reset – it’s not like Endless Eight, though, where memories are reset or anything like that. “And plus, there’s no longer a full twenty-four hours.”

But whatever, she'll follow Kyon.

... And so, Shamisen is subsequently fed.

[extraordinarily]

“So? Are you going to answer my question or are you going to continue and dodge it?” Haruhi goes straight to the point. She wants to know now.

[slave_of_suzumiya]

"You mean the question about the, uh..." He's clearly just stalling at this point.

[extraordinarily]

“W- what else do you think I would mean?” Haruhi retorts. It’s obvious that she wants to know so that she can say something about it. I mean, come on.

[slave_of_suzumiya]

"... Right." He lets out a sigh.

[extraordinarily]

“Well?” A one word question. Better answer this good, Kyon. She won’t accept any dumb answers or excuses.

[slave_of_suzumiya]

"Well, uh..." You're probably going to have to push harder Haruhi. Perhaps if you re-emphasise the original question?

[extraordinarily]

Oh, come on. She’ll immediately tug at Kyon’s tie before restating the question, her voice loud and angry. “W- well…?! Do you l- love me or not?”

[slave_of_suzumiya]

"Uh, I... maybe? Y'know, sort of-ish..." Kyon half mumbles his reply, not really wanting to admit it.

[extraordinarily]

“What’s with that lame answer?!” Haruhi yells, tugging at his tie harder.

[slave_of_suzumiya]

"Ack! W-what!?" Kyon struggles as his tie is pulled.

[extraordinarily]

“You didn’t give me a good answer, stupid Kyon…” Haruhi’s voice is lower than before as she frowns slightly, looking like a disappointed parent.

[slave_of_suzumiya]

"Fine, what qualifies as a good answer then?" He asks uncertainly.

[extraordinarily]

"Yes or no." There's more than that, but that's the best thing she can say right now under these circumstances.

[slave_of_suzumiya]

"A-alright then... Y-yes...?"

[extraordinarily]

"W... why are you talking as if you're unsure?" Her voice is faltering, but only because she's slightly nervous.
