smith break-in
Who: Zidane's crew and the Smiths.
What: They're attempting to get some answers, but they might find more than they expect.
Where: 501 Ricardo
When: Dusk
Warnings: ????
The house of the Smiths is identical to every other house in Mayfield's suburbs- at least in appearance. Even during the maddest of events, its doors have remained closed. People have tried to break in before- once even being invited inside.
Stepping into the front yard now, however, there's something new. Something wrong. The house is just the same as always, but there's something electric in the air. This isn't the Smith house that used to be- this is a ticking bomb waiting to go off.
Are you really sure you want to do this?

Zidane and Crowe
Something feels wrong. Very wrong.]
Zidane > Crowe > Mods?
Crowe turns to Zidane and gave him a quick nod, signaling that he was going to try the door, and use his lock picks if it was locked. Unless something else was being used on the door, he should have no problems getting in. Locks in Mayfield were nothing to him.]

That feeling of unease only amps up as you step through the door. It's clear by now that this isn't a natural feeling of anxiety- something in the air is producing this reaction in you artificially. That does not, however, make it any less potent.]
no subject
Okay, something feels really wrong. Zidane is not sure whether it is because he is in the place where Zemekis resides and therefore he would naturally feel more wary or something really bad is going to happen. Either way, it is bad enough for him to draw out his daggers as he quietly steps further into the room.]

Wait, what is that noise?! Zidane puts his ear to the wall near the doorway, hoping he can catch something before they get caught....]

"-no right to complain. You're not the one trapped here in this house with her. I'm telling you, something is coming. I don't know what the hell happened to the Librarian, but Lucy's- she's not happy about it. We have to do something. We have to find her."
I guess that means it's my turn to post next? That ok guys?

"I didn't sign up for this and you damn well know it! This wasn't part of the plan! Look, something is... wrong... with the girl. She's just sitting up there, in her room, but you can... you can feel it in the air in this house. Something is on its way. It won't be good for the idiots we've got trapped here- hell, when is it ever? But it won't be good for us either. This whole thing... it's all falling apart. Grey was right, old man! We can't keep doing this!"

He takes a quick glance at Crowe. If something bad is going to happen, then the other boy and the people distracting are his first priority. It might take a bit of persuading to get Crowe to leave, though...]

2/2
Re: 2/2
This was probably Lucy Smith...no, Zemekis...did she just overhear that guy's conversation? And if she is the boss of this place....oh no, Jack Smith could be in trouble!
Zidane moves further towards the doorway. Sure, this was probably a terrible idea, but this Jack Smith could get into trouble and Zidane wasn't the type to abandon people in danger - even those he did not like very much.]
[Whispering very quietly] Crowe, you go and look for the others. [Yeah, he knew that Crowe probably wouldn't budge but it was worth a shot.]
no subject
However, when Zidane said that to him, Crowe gave him a look that could only say Are you mad? before shaking his head. He didn't know what Zidane had planned, but Crowe wasn't leaving if Zidane wasn't. Crowe quickly whispered back.]
What are you doing?
no subject
"Enough. It's not Lucy and you know it."
[The voice is no longer that of a little girl. It's a man, a woman, and a machine, all in one.]
"S... Sir. Zemekis. Please, I- I was only-"
"I know what you were doing. And also know that I've had enough of this. Enough of this, and enough of you."
[This is followed by a choked sound, a grunt- and then, the sound of Jack Smith screaming in pain.]

[With that, he just runs into the next room, his daggers out. He knew there was an extremely high chance that he would not get away with this, but if there was a tiny chance he could save the man in that room, even if it meant getting severely punished...]

"Lucy" drops her hand, and the corpse drops with it. She turns, and as soon as her eye falls on Zidane and Crowe, they both freeze in place. Their skin crawls when she speaks.]
You've made a grave mistake.

Zidane is about to make a move when he finds himself frozen to the spot. He struggles but no matter how hard he tries, he cannot move one step!
Although "Lucy's" words sent a shiver down his spine with fright, the thief stood his ground and spoke through his teeth]
Zemekis, you rat bastard - you're gonna pay for what you've just done!
no subject
He just wished he could have gotten more for risking his neck. Any sort of clue or information to help everyone get out of here. But there was no winning against Mayfield, is there?
Crowe just glared down the entity in front of them, doing his damnedest to keep focused on it.]

["Lucy" looks almost... tired, as she looks at you. It's not anger in her eyes- it's disappointment.]
It's time for a change here. Jack Smith is dead. Billy has been taken care of. I don't need the illusion of a family anymore. This house and its inhabitants have become... obsolete.
["Lucy" raises a hand. At first, nothing happens- but then, you hear the crackling begin, and smoke fills your nostrils. The Smith residence has gone up in flames.
Your muscles suddenly relax, and the freezing effect wears off. You can move again- but what good is that going to do?]
I am going to give you one more chance. You will die here tonight, but it will not be for long. Next time, [she glances at Jack's corpse] you will not be so lucky.
Learn from this pain.
[With that, "Lucy" vanishes. Every door and window in the house locks simultaneously- Zidane and Crowe are trapped in the house as it burns down around them...]
no subject
There was another problem to worry about now, though.
When Lucy vanishes and Zidane finds that he can move again, he frantically goes to the nearest door.] Dammit, I can't open it!

[ This entire operation is giving her the heebie jeebies, honestly. Doesn't mean she's going to back down; she's come way to far for that. But don't mind her while she crosses her arms over her chest and shifts uncomfortably from one foot to the other. ]
