[ OPEN ] On the horizon, hope for tomorrow
Who: A bunch of Magical Girls (Fate, Hayate, Nanoha) and anyone who has anything to share about Mayfield.
What: Info-sharing and survival strategy meeting! SEE THIS POST FOR DETAILS!
Where: 947 Beulah, the hangar inside the spaceship Nadesico
When: Sunday, September 30th, noon 'til whenever
Warnings: They're talking about Mayfield, its history, and personal experiences so expect fear, angst, maybe gore and death, IDK. It's Mayfield.
Invitations have been made. Information has been compiled. Tables have been set at the front below holo-projection screens, with chairs and microphones there for those who are moderating this discussion as well as those who have stories to share and questions to answer. A few chairs have been set out on the deck, but there are also blankets strewn about since there is no way to accommodate the entire population of Mayfield on such short notice. Not discretely, anyway. They are mages; not miracle workers.
Though Nanoha is optimistic, there is that nagging sensation that she didn't do enough. That she didn't tell enough people. However, whether five people show up, or fifty, she will consider today as progress. Will it be enough...? That is to be determined by time, their personal efforts, and luck.
Once it seems that the influx of newcomers has slowed down, Nanoha excuses herself and heads to the front of the room. Though she stands before the table and has no microphone, her voice rings clear over the open space that could easily hold a match of American Football.
"Thank you all for coming, today. I want to apologize if any plans were waylaid for this meeting, but I know that you understand the gravity of our situation and made room in your schedule for such an important meeting." She pauses there to take a breath and let the conversations die down.
"This may not seem like much at the moment, but I hope that everyone will have something to give to the community, as well as something to take away from all of this."
Nanoha gestures to the space behind her. "Now... who would like to go first? If you have something to share, please do not hesitate to take a seat at the front, and we'll try to go in order and get everyone's facts out there."
((OOC: Fairly freeform style! There is this thread here for people who wish to info-dump. It's assumed characters can ask questions in that section, too, but Nanoha will say that it's best to ask someone who has been speaking on a particular topic!
This is the only header -- the rest of the post is for general mingling and conversations before, during, or after the meeting proper. There are, sadly, very little in the way of snacks or drinks, as this isn't planned as a very social event. As in the other post, contact me if you have any questions!))

Q&A
Regarding the borders
Whether or not this can lead to a way out is beyond her. After all, she's smart, but she isn't a scientist. She has printed out most of the relevant data that she can, and can transfer the rest to a computer or other device wirelessly. That's about it. Important things she notes:
-The sky does not go "up" so much as "you run out of air if you fly too high"
-There are some panorama shots of the view beyond Mayfield shown on the holo-projector
-Weapons will travel across the boundaries with people, but weapon fire dissipates on contact (this is the main reason she has not tried to blast her way out... yet) ]

This place is amazing, though. The "room" is incredibly huge, and they're inside a spaceship! The airships in her world weren't nearly this accomodating.

For now, she's not saying much. She's listening to what's being said, to see if there's any omissions or anything that she can contribute.]

But the meeting is basically at her house, so here she is half-heartedly attending. She's listening quietly, though to the observer it may appear she's just sitting there like a log.]

At the least, he's not going to force anything out of her. Not in the middle of an important meeting.]

She's not sure why, but that makes her feel instantly worse.
She looks down, and then back up at him, shifting a bit. Maybe they do need to talk.]

He does get up and sit closer. Again, he's not going to force her to talk to him. That doesn't mean he won't give her the opportunity.]
