Who: Dynamo, Dakki, and Knock Out
What: When androids get damaged, they need a mechanic, not a hospital, right?
Where: 748 Partridge Drive
When: After the portal for Day 6 closes
Warnings: Descriptions of robot injuries and stuff in that general department
[Dynamo and Dakki are both a sorry, sorry sight. They made it out of the portal to the wasteland alive, but in terrible shape. Dakki hadn't been the least bit confident of her ability to make it very far away from the Dairy, and she knew they both needed help, and soon... she suggested the first thing that came to mind, as cloudy as her thought processes were right now.]
I... think I know someone who'll help. Go to 748 Partridge Drive...
[They had talked on the phone. She had meant to go meet him before now. But Mr. Ashton's place was the closest one to come to mind. So, leaning on each other and limping along, the Reploid and the CAST made their way down the street and up his front walk, seeking aid.]

Here.
[Dynamo the kneeled down and looked to her.]
Climb on my back, things will be easier if I just carry you.
no subject
Huh...?
[She still had her right hand resting against Dy, even as he knelt down. And even then, she was unsteady. With one eye gone and half of the usual sensory input missing, she could barely keep her balance.]
...I... no. You don't have to. I can... I'm sure I can...
[...no, she wasn't sure that she could. So she looped her good arm over his shoulder and leaned against him, holding tight.]
...you shouldn't have to.
no subject
[There had to be some reason why he was so pushy about repairs...]
no subject
[And she may well have given him an irritated thump on the arm or chest or shoulder if she had a hand free that could do so. Her legs wrapped around his waist, and she rested her chin against his shoulder.]
...you're not doing so great, yourself. Don't overdo it.
no subject
[Off the two of them go. He wasn't sure who she was expecting them to meet up with... but she said that whoever it was could help.]
no subject
[She huffs and closes her remaining eye, head tipping to the side. She was damaged, and she just wanted to rest, but the chance to do so seemed so far away.]
...soft. Your hair's soft.
[The thought came to her, and in her current state, it was something that wound up being voiced, not just thought.]
no subject
Okay, fine. My hair is soft. What else? Stay awake back there.
[He just didn't want to get to this place and find out he had been carrying an offline shell when he got there. That's the only reason he was insisting she stay awake. Really!]
no subject
[She makes a little sound and her eyes open again. Maybe it was a silly thing to talk about, but it was a true thing.]
I'm awake, I'm awake... where're we... mmn? I think this is the right street?
[She was indeed fighting the urge to conk out completely. But fighting it successfully so far. She'd look like such a wimp if she passed out on Dynamo's back. So she'd be awake, damn it.]
no subject
[He turned onto the street and began to look at the house numbers as he walked along.]
Who is it we're meeting anyway?
no subject
[...was she trying to compliment him? She kind of meant it as a compliment. Maybe it was better to focus on getting to Dr. Aston's place, though.]
His name's Kurt Aston. He's a doctor... but for artificial life forms. He's supposed to be one, himself. I don't think Mayfield's changed him back yet.
no subject
[If she was trying to compliment him, it went right over his head. After all, other reploids had hair, so he didn't really understand where she was coming from. He continued on, until they finally came to the right address. His eyes narrowed as he wasn't sure this was a good idea. Then again, he didn't have the right to really be complaining much. His own arm was hanging from its socket at an odd angle, armor scorched or dented... however he was still in far better condition.]
Well, we're here.
[He walked up tot he door and shifted her a bit so he could knock on the door.]
no subject
Upon seeing a pair of injured synthetics, however, he threw the door open.]
Well, this looks bad. Quickly, come in. I have a station set up down in the basement.
[He asked no questions at first, choosing to peer at the female.]
Oh yes, this definitely seems like an emergency. Quickly, we have to stabilize her. Head down the stairs and set her in the bed you find. I'll get my tools.
no subject
Mr. Aston... Doctor Aston, it's Dakki Sigal. We spoke on the phone...?
[And already he's willing to help? Then things will be fine. They made it, good, good... her head dips and rests against Dynamo's shoulder, and her grip on him becomes a bit looser. She's daring to relax a little.]
Sorry if this is a bother...
no subject
[He then shifts her weight just ever so slightly, before continuing on. Finding the downstairs, he opens the door rather quickly before he drops her. With that task out of the way, he heads on down and sets her upon the bed as instructed.]
Well... that wasn't so bad.
no subject
Ah, yes, Miss Dakki. It's no bother at all. Really, my services are always at your disposal.
[Once she was set down, he looked her over, tsking aloud.] Which is a good thing, apparently. You- [He looked to Dynamo.] -I need you to get me a bag from the far bench there. Take your time; I can see you're not in the best of shape either. [He turned back to Dakki, turning her head in his hands and examining the damage.] Miss Dakki, please keep talking to me. I need to know you haven't gone into stasis. I don't care about what, just keep speaking.
[He felt under the table for a cord he'd kept bundled up there.] I need to know where your primary power source is located, so I can provide a steady current to it. Can you do that for me, Miss Dakki?
no subject
Nhh, thank you...
[She fails in her efforts to not cry out in pain when Knock Out starts to handle her head. Her right eye is shattered, a cracked and partially-missing mess of yellow-gold synthetics and sticky white fluid. The upper antennae on the right side of her head have snapped right off, and any handling of them gets an immediate reaction of pain from her.]
Nhh! Don't... not there. Aah! I'm talking, I'm talking, I'm here, just... I'll dismiss my armor. I've got a port on the back of my neck, under the skin. There's another on my lower back for lower-level processes.
[A ripple of blue light, and the battered and scratched silver-white armor vanishes. She's left in a darker purple bodysuit, although it's also torn and punctured in spots. There's more of that same white fluid around the scrapes and punctures and ruptures that she's sustained. Seems that she bleeds white.
It also seemed that her armor was also supporting some spots that very much needed supporting.]
Iiih! M-my power source's in my chest cavity. But don't... I mean, not yet, not like this, you can't open me up like this...!
[She's serious enough in her protest to reach her right hand upwards, if he's trying to do anything that seems too rash. Or too painful.]
no subject
A small scoff escaped him. She really should've known better. However, why was he angry anyway? He lofted a brow at her protesting.]
Why don't you just turn off your pain receptors?
[That might be reason enough as to why he was walking around like nothing was wrong.]
no subject
Because I can't. That's a maintenance-mode override. I don't have access to that, myself. I'd have done it already if I could!
no subject
[He pulled away and gently turned her head enough to reach the port on her neck, attaching the cable as best as he could, and stepping on a switch under the table. There was a hum, and the light dimmed for a moment, as the current went through.] There. That should make sure you don't go fading while I do what I can. All right?
[He then turned to Dynamo.] Are you blocking your pain receptors? Because you seem to be quite fit for losing a limb.
no subject
Guess the town figured I don't need them yet.
[Well, that was short and to the point.]
no subject
I'm not sure what kind of equipment you've got, but it might work... someone altered some equipment in the past to be compatible with... ah! [That was when he connected the cable. It was more a surprised sound than a sound of pain. The pin-out wasn't quite a perfect match, but her systems were doing what they could to adapt and prevent something damaging from happening. And if it can read any outgoing information there's a stream of messages in the vein of "This Access is Unauthorized and in Violation of GRM Patents and Regulations".]
It's... not perfect. But I'm feeling a little clearer. I think.
[And her remaining eye turns to Dynamo again, her voice going softer.]
They haven't given you back your pain receptors...?
no subject
I'll tell you what... if they had given me all my systems fully operational, then I don't think we'd have made it out of that portal alive.
no subject
Does that mean that you can't turn them off, either? When you actually have them?
no subject
[He stopped himself and looked to the other.]
I'm rambling here at the moment. You should... do whatever it is.
[He gestured with his good arm.]
That you need to do.
no subject
When he returned his direct attention to his patients, he nodded.]
It looks like I can work things out with most of your repairs, my dear... though I may not be able to get your optic fully functional again. But I will do what I can. Your arm will be a simple procedure... and it appears your stabilization will need recalibrating, but that shouldn't be too difficult. Once you're properly stable, we can worry about that. Now...
[He turned to Dynamo.]
You, my good man, let's have a quick look at you. Just because you're not feeling any pain doesn't mean you're all right. Come here, let's take a look at that limb, hmm?
no subject
Dakki looked pleased and hopeful at first. The smile on her lips faltered when he broke the news about her eye.]
It might not...? [Her disappointment only showed for a moment. If the rest would be fine, then... that would have to be alright. She'd have to learn to deal with it.] That's fine. Anything that you can do is more than I can do for myself right now.
[Oh, the spotlight was on Dynamo, now? She turned her head as much as was comfortable, so she could continue to see what they were doing and better hear what they were saying.]
Yes, yes, please have a look? ...please let him have a look, Dy?
no subject
When Dakki caught his attention. Did she just...]
I suppose, if you think it's that bad...
no subject
It's just a matter of making sure everything's as it should be, my good sir. Once you're straightened out, I might even make use of you in helping repair our Miss Dakki.
[He leaned down, lifting Dynamo's arm and examining the joint break.] I see, ball and socket construction... modular, too... Tell me, are all synthetics from your world built like this, for easy parts-swapping? Because whoever thought of this was a mechanical genius. Once we get these wires properly resoldered, it's just a matter of replacing the cracked ball. [He ran his finger along the edge of the socket in Dynamo's shoulder.] Not even any damage here... fascinating.
[Gently, he set the loose arm down, rooting into his tool bag. He glanced over his shoulder at Dakki.]
Still with us, I presume? I'll only be another few moments, and we can focus on doing everything possible to bring you back to full recovery.
no subject
[She watched Kurt's examination of Dynamo's arm as best as she could. She was curious about the reploid's construction, curious as to what the doctor would think about it, curious as to how Dynamo would react... She shifted herself a bit to have a better view, leaning up on her good elbow and arm, and grimaced in pain.
Oh. And the doctor was looking back at her again. She looks apologetic, as though she's done something wrong. And she settles herself back down.]
I.. I'm still here. I'm fine. Fine. There's no hurry....
no subject
Makes for easier repairs for the ones who are stupid enough to go into battle unprepared. This would've been easily avoided if someone had been paying attention in the first place."
[There was a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth.]
There, you looked. Now, if she's saying she's fine, then I suggest you do what repairs you can with myself first. Then as stated, I can help be of better assistance.
[Ladies first? What was that?]
no subject
...replacing the cracked ball is going to require someone that can build a replacement part. Is that even available here?
[Her eye turns towards Dr. Aston as she poses the question. Surely it wasn't going to be that easy, unless the equipment here had more features than she knew?]
