Who: The Doctor and Charles
What: Danger-prone people need a little more warning than the average Joe
Where: 1338 Benny Road
When: September 4th
Warnings: N/A
[Hey Doctor you know what you're missing in your life? More people paying eerily close attention to you!!
Like this pint-sized bat demon who is currently perched outside of whichever window happens to be nearest the master bedroom (on the second floor, yep...), knocking on it impatiently and loudly. He could have gone for the door, sure, but he didn't want to run the risk of encountering any drones or sentient people the Doctor might be living with.
...Except his knocking is just about as loud as it would be if it were the front door and he's failed to take into account the fact that the Doctor probably doesn't sleep in a bed like a normal person, whoops.]

These things seem self-contained, and if something dangerous were to arrive from the other side, I doubt even Lucy would be pleased. A breach in security is a breach in security, no matter how you view it.

[A sigh.]
Right, of course not. But perhaps her control is slipping.

It seems plausible, but what is there to be done if that truly is the case? You know as well as I do that no amount of preparation can truly protect anyone. [that sure is some righteous bitterness in his voice.]

[he nearly spits out the words.]

There's not much of a point to any of us in this place, is there? Anyone at all could be a murderer one day and a saint the next; completely useful when it doesn't matter and utterly useless when the only thing of importance is on the line. [a sloping shrug, and he swings one of his feet.] I can't say your dedication isn't admirable, though. If you're fortunate, it won't be futile.

I have no control. No leverage. No way to make them listen to me. And the status quo can change at any time, without warning.
[He rubs at his face.]
But I can't stop trying. I can't.

Bullheadedness isn't an attractive feature, but I don't know where you'd be without it. [he looks forward again, down to his feet.] If they decide to poke around any of the portals, try to get them to do it as soon as possible.
