You've heard about Jedi? Most people I know around here never have.

I believe one of your colleagues, or maybe allies is a better word, here has mentioned it before. Just little things that led me to guess the rest. Did you pick up on anything strange before or after the broadcast?

Can't say I did. If I had my R2 unit around, he probably could have filtered out the static on that broadcast but I'm a little out of luck there.

R2 unit? Well, maybe next time. If there is a next time, that is. Do you fight then?

But I do fight and I happen to have my lightsaber so I'm not completely useless.

Interesting. We don't have robots back home. Our technology has focused more on prosthesis that we call automail. My assigned son here does know a thing or two about robots, though.

[The word lightsaber catches her attention.]

And I assume a lightsaber is a type of sword.

Hey, if it works, it works.

It's a sword made of focused plasma. It has the reputation of being able to cut through anything except cortosis ore. Which, by the way, I haven't seen any of that around here.

I've never heard of cortosis. I wonder if the mechanic from back home has. That sounds like an exceptional sword. Do all Jedi have one?

[She wants to see them in action.]

Might have. It's rare where I'm from. But all Jedi have one. It's one of those things where you can't become a Jedi until you build your own.

Does it take a special talent or trait to build one?

You have to use the Force to bind the components inside the hilt. Using one, on the other hand, anyone can do. Though it is dangerous for non-Force users since they take the risk of accidentally chopping off their own limbs.

The Force is this sense thing you Jedi have, right?

[She might seem a bit disappointed that she can't have one all to herself, but she does like her sword enough not to let it bother her too much.]

Have a lot of people lost limbs trying to use them without the Force?

I don't know the answer to that. You'll have to ask Ben Kenobi that one, if you know him.

I'll tell you what, sometime after we're not cooped up inside wondering what's going to happen next, I'll show it off.

I don't think I've met this Ben Kenobi yet.

That at least gives me something to look forward to if we're still stuck here after this.

He's a Jedi Master so if you're looking for the best Force user around here, he's your best bet.
