Who: Luke and Kreutzer
What:
Luke's golem is finally finished, but he needs his teacher's help activating it.
Where: Outside 726 Anderson Lane
When:
Backdated before the AU event
Warnings:
None

After about a month and a half of hard work, the massive golem sitting in the yard of 726 Anderson Lane was finally complete. Luke takes a step back after attaching the "face" of the golem, admiring his handiwork and feeling a sense of pride after being able to take on a project of this size and finish it. And as his very first golem, he took extra time to make sure it was as sturdy as it could be. As soon as he could activate it, it would become 726 Anderson Lane's newest guardian. No intruders would be able to slip into the house with this huge thing standing guard.

He smiles a little to himself. Looks like watching his previous Mayfield father at work had really paid off, maybe this would finally make up for him not being able to protect his previous family. With this, he could successfully protect his new family. He didn't have to feel guilty anymore. He wouldn't have to feel so useless anymore.

This would change everything.

Running back inside the house, he picks up the phone to call on his teacher.

"Miss Kreutzer? It's ready."

"Then today's finally the big day, isn't it? The day your hard work and dedication truly pays off."

Admittedly, Kreutzer was looking forward to this as well. Luke certainly put his heart and soul into that golem, as far as she could tell. That alone brought her much joy.

"I believe the only question to ask now...is if you're ready."

Although Kreutzer didn't want to interfere with his design at all, she only stepped in a few times to make sure it would actually work. If it didn't, she'd have to resign as his teacher.

"Wonderful. I'll be right over, in that case."

And once she hangs up the phone, she'll start heading right over to 726 Anderson, where they would activate the golem and put Luke's creation to the test.

On arrival, she'll actually give the golem one final look over, if Luke's not already outside. Gotta make sure it still looks functional, you know. She was impressed with the size, as well; this golem no doubt meant a lot to him.

Just one more glance...

"Everything seems fine. Once activated, it should be fully operational."

Though the word painted on its stomach certainly doesn't escape Kreutzer's attention. "This word...does it hold significance, if I may ask?"

"I see...it is a word of Hebrew origin, also meaning firmness. Very appropriate, considering there will be little that can pierce its defenses.

Stand aside, Luke; I'm going to bring your creation to life."

She waited for Luke to back up before eying the golem up and down. It was going to take a lot to power up this juggernaut, but she was willing to do it. She had the power, the motivation and the wish of a young boy...she didn't need much more than that. Holding her hands to her chest, Kreutzer closed her eyes as a large magic circle (best picture google had to offer) appeared beneath her feet, spinning in place as her body began to flash a bright white.

The energy flashing around her concentrated into an orb that loomed over her head, shining brightly while Kreutzer appeared deep in concentration. After a moment, her eyes opened up and she extended an arm towards the golem. A fraction of the orb shot out at the golem, sinking into it and making the giant twitch. Then another piece broke off and did the same thing, leading to a similar reaction from the golem.

More pieces of the orb began to break off and fuse with the golem rapidly until three quarters of the orb was gone. With the last bit of it left, Kreutzer extended both her arms towards the golem as the rest of the orb merged itself with the machine; the last bolt of energy it needed for it to be fully functional and powered up.

With the enchanting done, the magic circle beneath her faded away. Kreutzer's breath was steady, but it was obvious that the process took a lot out of her. Nonetheless, she offered Luke a warm smile.

She tried to wave away his concern with a hand. She used this much power at once before, so she was used to it. The main problem came from not doing so in such a long time.

"I'll be fine...but I believe your concern should be focused on your creation."

Catching her breath, Kreutzer stands by Luke's side, proudly looking up at the juggernaut that towered over both of them. It was definitely a success to be proud of...and save for the enchanting and a few corrections, this was all Luke's work.

"You did it, Luke...you finally did it."

"I knew you could do it; you had the potential all along."

Kreutzer was impressed with Luke's capacity to learn; somehow, he retained the sponge-like intelligence gathering of a child and picked up on her lessons quickly. If there was ever anything that could demonstrate just what he was capable of, this would be it.

"Now comes the calibration phase...or 'test drive,' as it were. Now you should probably interact with it; make yourself known to it, converse, go for a jog around town, whatever you'd like. You can't go wrong with getting acquainted with your own golem."

Because let's face it, this guy was huge. Having friends like him would be amazing. enemies like him...yeah, good luck.

"That sounds like a wonderful idea, Luke. Go ahead and instruct it to carry us around Mayfield; it should listen to you."

It's his golem, after all...
