[Egon has become very good at quickly and discreetly stashing away his current personal project every time he hears someone approaching while he's on the clock. He isn't too terribly concerned with getting in trouble since there's really not much they can do except drone him again. Still, it's become habit.

However, today he's rather distracted with this project. He's upgrading the PKE meter that he built months ago, having found a smaller circuit board for a more compact and lighter-weight design. This project is very near and dear to him so he's finding it a bit difficult to focus on much else. He's already failed to notice when a new customer drove up several times today.

He'd be rather easy to sneak up on in his little secluded corner in the garage.]

[Egon's not the only one in the garage working on his own projects in his spare time. Ted's been squirreling away things in his own private corner, working on a small squadron of small beetle-shaped robots. Because of this, he's always on the prowl for interesting-looking spare parts, and he frequently picks through the garage looking for unclaimed bits and pieces he can scrounge for his own use.

He's making the rounds looking for parts when he can't help but notice that someone else isn't bothering working on any cars, either. His curiosity piqued, Ted decides to approach to get a better look at what it is Egon's doing.]

[And Ted will be able to get quite close before Egon realizes that he's being observed. He quickly jumps to his feet and stands in front of the project on the work table, trying his darnedest to not look guilty. Egon's not a very good actor.]

Are you looking for something?

[Well, that's interesting. Very interesting, indeed. Ted has worked in law enforcement--well, superheroics, at least--for long enough to be able to tell when someone's hiding something with a guilty conscience. He's definitely curious, but he'll play it casual for a bit just to see what happens. Whatever was being worked on over here is still out and being poorly hidden, after all.]

Oh, just looking for spare parts, mostly.

Spare parts?

[Egon glances behind him but doesn't move out of the way. There are definitely spare parts on the work table but, well... those are being used. He shakes his head.]

No spare parts here. Have you checked the store room? On the other side of the garage?

[Oh, and he even looked back at whatever it was. This guy's worse at hiding interesting things than Ted thought.

So of course he's not going to leave. He's even slightly leaning to one side in an attempt to casually peek around the other man.]

Actually, yeah, I just came from over there. Didn't really find what I was looking for.

[Egon just keeps looking more and more awkward, which is kind of his specialty.]

I see.

What are you looking for?

[He's really hoping this guy isn't looking for the coil of soldering wire that's sitting right behind him.]

Just a few small parts, really. Nothing too fancy...some transistors, some small gears...soldering wire...

[And Ted continues to try to peek around him.]
