The New Recruit

[Cade wasn't planning on going to the flower shop today. In fact, he's been avoiding the place a bit lately, almost as if he is superstitious about the place; it seems that every time he's gone by, something crazy has happened.

And now, he's bringing his very grumpy, chain smoking, profanity-spewing "wife" to meet the woman who Cade not only has a bit of a crush on, but has shot, stabbed, and punched Cade in the face.

This will go well.

Cade rounds the corner of the block that Annie's flowers is on, leading his "wife", Jenny, to the place upon her insistence.]

"We're almost there."

[Cade smooths his hair and acts as if he knows something you two don't, making a jarring transition from goofball to playing it cool.]

"You'd be surprised what I'm capable of when things are on the line...

-the very last mistake of more than one fellow back home was underestimating Cade Masters."

[Cade slips some money on the counter, takes a rose, and turns to the door as if ready to leave (unless either of you has further need of him).]

[She can't help but let the smirk grow at Jenny's words.]

Although, he does seem trainable. He paid for the rose this time. And, he does seem reliable when the time calls for it. I'll just have to give him a talk about harassing any of the women during bingo night.

[voiceofauthority]

[Jenny's lips smiled as she glanced at Cade.]

If you're going to train a man you've got to let him take a few knocks. A few broken bones will teach him not to harass the local women.

[Then her words were to Cade]

I think I've got it from here. Unless you wanna try and romance the lady.

[Cade turns and flashes you both a smile.]

"Normally I'd love to, but I really should get going if I don't want to be late. There is a lovely woman in town who is really looking forward to getting lunch with me."

[Olivier nods.]

And most of the women here are quite capable of delivering a solid punch.

[Cade stops in his tracks at the door when he hears Olivier's words. Was that a threat? (Cade has a bit stubborn streak when it comes to being threatened into doing something: he tends to do the exact opposite, even if he had originally intended to do what the intimidator wanted beforehand.)

He puts on a big smile and turns back to Olivier, and again resumes his cheesy, hammy persona (in fact, he cranks up even higher than usual), his next words booming like a Shakespearean actor.]

"Don't worry, my beautiful Olivier! I have not forgotten you! I shall return for you on the morrow to once again melt your heart! I can only hope you can bare my absence until then!"

[And with that Cade dashes off, laughing hammily as he darts down the street!]

"Ha HA HA ha!"
