[ The bonfire is lit as the last of the sun disk slips below the horizon. The area has been cleared of negative energy, as well as she is able, but not warded against anything but attacks. There also is not anything keeping the light of the fire being seen, other than the usual trees. ]

I'd like to think you'd automatically be deferential to Granny, [ Ilsa points her out with a slight chin movement, ] but there's a mage here that uses mathematical formulae for her work. [ she nods toward the mage in question ] Hayate Yagami might be able to explain it better.

[Granny looks challenging, even to Tarvek...but as a result part of him wants to prove he could be charming even to her granite self. A math mage sounds interestingly near to sparkery. Mainly, though, he wants to help.]

He's a tall redhead with a pony-tail and pince-nez, wearing an absolutely killer shearling coat in deep blue-purple with tons of fancy folk embroidery, that's a dramatic "big coat." Ideally he ought to make quite an impression--looks, costume, and charm. He smiles, and gives a small and very European bow.]

Enchanté, Yagami-san. I am not familiar with that classification. I myself am what my people call a "spark." That is essentially a person whose technical skills cross the line into magic, of a sort.

Ilsa tells me you are a numerically based mage?

Yeah it's sort of a local designation back home, for girls who have powers at a young age. [She smiled at him.]

I am actually. Our local magical system is based around advanced calculations so that it converts magical output into energy such as thunder or beams.

That sounds fascinating...and like it might possibly translate into something I could adapt for my own work.

I don't know your traditions, but I'd be willing to try to show you some of my spark work if you'd be willing to try to explain some of your number magic. We might both come out the stronger for it.
