[The Doctor feels nothing. He feels everything. He feels like time has stopped since he noticed Rory's droning. A sense of loss that's shaken him deep to his core and penetrated his very soul. He feels heavy, weighted down from grief.
And he hates himself for feeling that way. Amy and Rory are safer back home, away from this town, off to build a life together. A happy life. A life without him. He tries to swallow his lonliness. But it stews inside of him like a poison.
He finds himself wandering in the TARDIS, flipping levers. But she's a smart old girl and she takes him exactly where he should be right now.
