What: Annie ate Sara in a non-sexy way during the Break event. They talk about it. The Major finds out. This is the opposite of a positive outcome.
Warnings: The Major. Annie. Mentions of cannibalism. None of these are good things.

Annie has spent the larger part of a half hour pacing outside of Sara's house, wondering if she should knock on the door or not. How does she even go about doing this? "Hey, sorry for, like, eating you and shit, are we still bros?" That probably wasn't going to fly. But, she'll never find out if she keeps standing out here like a fucking idiot.

... So, she throws a rock at the door.

"But..." Well. Clearly no arguing with that. It reminds her of Nas, in a way, though that doesn't make her feel any better. She enters the house with her head bowed, like a dog caught at misbehaving.

Sara doesn't turn around once they're inside. She stares down at her hands, thinking. Her voice is soft. "Annie... when you attacked me... you should know I didn't mean those things I said. I wasn't seeing things right. Well, I wasn't seeing things at all, but I mean -- I -- I thought you were possessed by a demon."

"... Wait, what the fuck? Why are you apologizing to me?" This is the opposite of what she had been expecting.

[sara_mudou]

Sara laughs a little. "I just wanted you to know, that's all." She finally does turn to Annie and look at her. Smiling. "I know you're afraid of being thought of that way."

[werejew]

"Sara..." It's not like she has tears in her eyes or anything. It's a trick of the light, clearly. "It's not like I don't fucking deserve it. Shit, Sara, I fucking... How can you smile at me after what I did."

[sara_mudou]

"A-Annie-chan..." Sara frowns. She doesn't really enjoy seeing Annie cry like this. No, that's an understatement. She hates seeing Annie cry. Annie isn't supposed to cry. Annie is tough. It's almost as painful for her as remembering what it felt like to be ripped to shreds. Almost.

But even though that memory still fills her with fear, Sara never truly blamed Annie for what happened. And Sara blames Annie for a lot of things, but not for that. Never for that.

"L-Let me guess. The day before you attacked me, you were taken from your home, right? And you woke up in a weird room with a bunch of other people who are all in pain, and scared, and so were you."

[werejew]

"Nah, that was later. I woke up on an operating table, with some weird bitch doing shit to me." She was awake for the entire surgery. She can still remember every second of it.

[sara_mudou]

"You were awake?" Sara sounds alarmed and disgusted. She feels grateful at least that she was unconscious for her operation.

[werejew]

"Yeah, but I couldn't move or talk or anything. The doctor bitch injected me with some weird yellow shit... And I guess that's what made me go kinda crazy."

[sara_mudou]

Sara nods. "It made you see and think things were different than they really were. Right?"

[werejew]

"I thought everybody was after me... or had sold me out to the people after me."

[sara_mudou]

That makes Sara look down again. She feels a cold shiver run up her spine. But soon, she looks back up with a soft expression. "That's why I don't blame you for what happened," she says. "You weren't really yourself. You didn't really know what was happening. You wouldn't have done that if that woman hadn't operated on you."

[werejew]

"... It wasn't the operation that made me do it."

She takes a deep breath before continuing on. "I mean, yeah, it made me super paranoid and shit, but... none of that should've made me want to eat anyone. I was just really... distracted, and I hadn't eaten anything in days, and when you get like that it's really fucking hard... to control it..."

Annie tries to meet Sara's eye, tries and fails. "If you're gonna forgive me for the shit I've done-- and I'm not saying you should-- I want you to be sure you know what you're forgiving."

[sara_mudou]

Sara is quiet for a long, long time. That's not what she first thought was going on. She had assumed that Annie was hallucinating, like she was, and that Annie didn't fully understand how she was reacting.

Sara forces herself to look at Annie, even if Annie can't or won't look at her. "I... I see." She takes a deep, shaky, uncertain breath. "Then... I... I still forgive you."

[werejew]

"... Why?"

[sara_mudou]

"Because I can tell you feel bad about it."

[werejew]

"Oh, yeah, I feel bad about it-- Sara, I fucking ate you! That's not just something you can fucking forgive like that!"

[sara_mudou]

Sara stiffens visibly, drawing in a breath. Her eyes glint, although not angrily. "Says who? I can decide for myself who I forgive and don't forgive! And I forgive you, Annie. You're my friend. That's all there is to it, okay?"

[werejew]

A few moments pass. Annie's face softens, and she finally manages to look Sara in the eye. "... Shit. I don't deserve friends like you."
