Don't pretend you ever forget about me
Who: The Riddler and Ema Skye
What: Awkward V-Day shenanigans
Where: The Riddlermobile! (Eventually leading to 1492 Kramden Road)
When: Evening of Valentine's Day, 195X
Warnings: They're them. Sloppy makeouts probably ensue.
[This... definitely wasn't how Edward was expecting to spend his Valentine's Day at all. He'd imagined this car ride with Ema would be going much more smoothly than it actually is. But then, he can't really say he was expecting what he witnessed earlier to actually happen.
Well. Better to get everything out in the open now rather than just keep sitting here at the driver's seat, drumming his fingers against the wheel to try and break the silence.]
So. Care to tell me what that was about?

Sloppy makeouts would probably happen even if they weren't minted. XD
[Even though Ema has the common sense to figure out why he's not at all okay with her kissing another person, the effects of the mint are clouding that common sense. Everyone else is doing it, so why not her? Today's about love and all of that, and really the urge to be close is part of a biological impulse to find the best mate and breed. Scientifically speaking. And who is she to argue science?
She is going to flip tables when this is over, the way that Mayfield has her thinking right now.]
It wasn't anything serious. Calm down.
True that.
I mean, it's not as if cheating is serious, after all. [Not when he does it, anyway...] Question: How would you feel if you bumped into me kissing some stranger on the street? Hmm?
no subject
[Ordinarily, the answer to that question would be something that would end painfully for Edward. She does take their relationship seriously and has tendencies toward jealousy, same as him.
But today...]
I'd interrupt and step in. Like this.
[Good thing they're at a stop light, because Ema pulls him in for a kiss. What is subtlety, really?
Clearly, he's rubbing off on her.The kiss is fairly brief, and she gives him a smile that's much too flirtatious given that they're in the midst of an argument.]
Your kisses are better, of course.
no subject
That isn't the point! Don't try and dodge the subject. [She's left a bit of a minty aftertaste on his lips, though, and so he absently brushes a finger against hers. The anger's still there, but his next statement is a bit flirty.] Of course mine are better. They always have been. Just as yours are better than---
[Whoa now, freezing in his tracks. He did not almost say that aloud.]
no subject
[Waaaaaaait a minute. Ema might be affected by Mayfield shenanigans, but she's far from stupid. It doesn't take her long to put two and two together.]
You kissed someone else, too!
[She reaches over and whacks him. She's not jealous, but that doesn't mean he's off the hook.]
You hypocrite!
no subject
[Green light. Sinking lower into his seat as he continues on down the road in silence. Then...]
All right, fine. Maybe I am a hypocrite. But Susan and I only kissed once. How many people did you lock lips with? Hmm?
no subject
Susan?!
[Suddenly, her conversation with Edward's not!wife makes a lot more sense. She isn't sure if she should be angry, hurt, offended, or really really confused.]
Was it just Susan, or did you kiss anyone else?
no subject
[Even hopped up on mint, Edward's redirects should be familiar enough for Ema to recognize.]
