It's not above the residents of 1485 Kramden Rd to trick their parents into going out for the night. The drones might find themselves locked out by virtue of Lily's wards, redirecting them towards the porch upon each attempt. The "daughter" would not normally abuse her magic to treat her fake parents in that manner, but the most recent happenings have left the children of the house drained and dispirited.

The living room boasts an appropriate amount of comfort food and some illegally obtained alcohol. The town may collapse on them tomorrow, but for tonight, they're going to wash the bitter aftertaste of this particular reality.

[Despite their long conversation on the day of his arrival, Harry wanted to talk more about how Sirius had made his motorbike fly. He'd had the dream the night before and, after almost dying on the island, he wanted some fun. He didn't realise there was a party going on, only that Sirius might be there. So he knocked on the door and hoped the boy he wanted answered the door not someone else.]

The "parents" wouldn't be knocking on the door. They shouldn't be getting close to the steps, so Lily answered the door with ease, looking over Harry's head for a moment before noticing the young boy at the steps.

"I don't think we've met," she smiled warmly, used to years of dealing with first years, "Were you looking for this house?"

Lily! [James hollers through the house. Maybe he started just a little bit early. Maybe] Lily! Evans! Lily! Bloody fuck-- [He kicks a footstool out of his way, sitting down hard on the sofa, pouring himself another glass of whiskey. This is his second. And they're nearly full glasses]

"Um...I was looking for Sirius." Harry asked, rather shyly and not really looking at her. Ever since Sirius had said he looked like his best friend Prongs, he didn't really want to be recognised again. At least, for whatever reason, he didn't have his scar. Made this easier at any rate.

[bespell]

Pick one name and stick with it! [She yells back from the kitchen, before returning with a bucket of ice.] Who died?

Your chair. And your name is Lily Evans so I choose both. [He toasts her with his glass before taking a too big gulp of it]

Fighting an urge to kneel down to be at eye level--the boy is hardly that short--Lily plays with a strand of her hair absently, "He's gone to the shop to get more drinks, but you should come in. The drones aren't here today, and we have plenty of food."

She can hardly make out his features when he's looking away like that, but he seems oddly familiar.

[So Remus is one of the party hosts. So what? The first three glasses of rum had been taken in quick succession -- unaccustomed as Remus was to liquor having any affect on him at all -- and that proved to be his first mistake of the night.

Still, swaying slightly, he's retired to the corner of the living room with a book and is trying his damnedest to focus on the words. It's not an easy task.]

....think I'm knackered.

Harry wasn't sure. "I think I'd rather wait here." If these were Sirius' friends, one of them was bound to be Prongs. And if he was anywhere near him, he was bound to be ridiculed for looking similar.

[bespell]

Oh, James. [She's fallen out of the habit of "Potter!"ing at him for the past few weeks. Moving the stool out of the way lest someone else trips on it.] You really will be far gone before the rest get here, yeah?

"Only you might confuse my magic, if you do," It's not at all truthful of Lily. The wards are only supposed to keep the drones away--specifically her parents. "It's acting like a field right now, and I imagine it'd be dreadfully boring here by yourself.

Any friend of Sirius Black is a friend of mine," which is also not entirely true, but it is, nevertheless, under the circumstances.

That's the plan. [He grins, shifting to his feet. He's not a light weight, but he sees no reason in being restrained right now. So he just steps up to Lily and plants a messy kiss on her lips]

You wouldn't be the only one. Are you honestly trying to read?

[He's going to a party with people from his parents' generation. At this point... well, it's not even that weird any more. After the mountain he doesn't even want to worry about little things like timelines too much.]

Well... hello.

"Magic?!" Harry looked up, suddenly interested. "You can do magic here? Sirius showed me his wand but said it was useless." He was grinning and talking as if they were old friends now. He couldn't believe someone here had real magic and he'd forgotten all about being recognised.

[nonmetus]

That's a record! Moonsy, knackered! [James laughs, just about as far gone, but in a much better place. He saunters into the room, whiskey in hand, and grabs the book away from him] Architecture of New Jersey! Fucking brilliant!

[nonmetus]

Oh, hullo. [James opens the door to see someone who looks rather like himself only... smaller] Aren't you a right handsome little mate?

[bespell]

[Lily's not used to the affection still, and her fair cheeks are quick to redden, and she retaliates by biting--gently--at his lower lip to sober him.]

[It doesn't work quite as she'd hope when he presses closer, egged on by that. It's thrilling, having her kiss back. He can count on one hand the number of times they've kissed, but he doesn't care right now]

It's been a while, Longbottom! I'm glad you could make it. [And the two may be the only attendees articulating their words so clearly and soberly (with the exception of the young boy in the kitchen.] Watch out for the drunks.

"Um. Hi. I was looking for Sirius." Harry seemed very timid, mainly due to almost dying recently. Which is why he had sought out Sirius.

[nonmetus]

"Sirius? He's here. Well, he'd better be," James glances behind himself and yells out "Padfoot!" as loud as he can.

[bespell]

"If you come to the kitchen then I can show you a thing or two," Lily's eager to get him away from the porch and inside, as not to attract the attention any of the faceless drones from the week before. She still dreams about them. Ushering the boy inside, she closes the door behind them firmly. "Black has nothing on me."
