Who: Everyone in town is invited
What: The Sisterhooves Social! A county fair type of get-together.
Where: In John Doe Park
When: Saturday and Sunday
Warnings: Shenanigans, mostly of the pony variety, but that's about it

Welcome to the Sisterhooves Social!!

For the daylight hours of this weekend, the park has been transformed into a rather nice fairground.

Dominating the affair is the track for the obstacle course, but all around it are stalls and other areas for people to gather and have fun.

Banners and ribbons decorate the entirety of the Social, glittering in the sunlight, thanks to Rarity's choice of sparkling decorations. Also covering the booths are tons of balloons, thanks to Pinkie Pie. The banners welcome you to the Social while various signs mark out the activities available.

Applejack had put up fliers for the past couple of days so everyone knew what was going on or they could offer to help ((ie you can hoofwave having a stall if you think you'd help)), so many different booths and stalls are at the ready for visitors.

Hopefully there will be many who will bring their friends and have fun!

During the early morning of Saturday, Applejack and others have brought the materials to the park to help set up various stalls or obstacles for the main event. If you came to help, but have questions, Applejack or Twilight Sparkle are easy to find to ask!

All around the area are various stalls: fresh baked goods, punch, and typical fairground food have all been generously donated and provided for everyone at the Social. The signs proclaim what there is to eat, and if you want to help out by bringing some food for others, you can probably easily track down Pinkie Pie or Applejack to ask. Either way, enjoy the vittles!

If a stall isn't food, then it's most likely some small activity for a team of two to do together (give or take, sometimes your 'sister' might be busy after all)! From various arts & crafts booths to plant shows, there's tons of things to do!

The signs proclaim (but not limited to):

Pie eating contest
One person or teams of two can challenge others to see who can eat the most pies in certain amount of time. Win enough challenges and you could earn a prize!

Food contests
Bake a mean pie? Made some delicious jam? Well time to prove it here! Signs indicate what kind of food tasting is going on, along with small samples set out for everyone to try. The signs also mentioned when the judging by Pinkie Pie will occur. First place in any category will earn you either a jar of Zap Apple Jam or some Zap Apples themselves!

Flower and Crops contests
Have yourself a garden that you've been working on while in Mayfield? Then come show off your hard work! Fruits, vegetables, or even flowers, it doesn't matter, the best looking specimen could earn you a blue ribbon!

A few booths have been set aside for folks to stop by and get creative! Construction paper, glitter, glue, scissors, and more have been placed on tables for anybody to sit down and mess around. Most of the tables have been set up for you and your 'sister' to make something together, but even someone just walking by themselves is allowed to try their hand at something!

A small stage with a catwalk has been set up for a fashion show! Made a new dress or suit in your free time? Well now you can dazzle the crowd with your impeccable taste! Signs proclaim the time of the show and when the judging by Rarity and Sweetie Belle will occur. Even if you don't join in, maybe you can find a new outfit!

((OOC: Rarity won't be around to judge until Monday, but feel free to post what you bring so they can look it over when they get back!))

The main event of Sunday afternoon ((but you can post sooner than that)), the obstacle course is as the center of area, with stands spaced around it for spectators. Here groups of two can race to the finish line for prizes and glory! The course is mostly oval in shape, with various obstacles at points to be completed by you and your 'sister.'

OOC Rules:
- Race lasts until Wednesday the 15th at 11:59 EST.
- Teams of two are needed to compete (bendable though, feel free to ask). Once you have finalized a team, please reply to THIS comment with both characters' names, journals' names, and a team name (team name is optional).
- Each obstacle will have its own comment thread and a number by its name.
- The number by the obstacle name is a post count goal. You and your teammate must at least tag back and forth that number of times before you move on to the next obstacle. That is, if the number is four, Player 1 tags it, Player 2 replies, Player 1 then replies, and then Player 2 replies for four total comments. Then they can move to the next obstacle.
- The counter is only the MINIMUM number of comments needed at the obstacle, feel free to take more if you and your teammate have a scenario that would take longer. Sometimes more comments are better!
- Icon/Comment spams count as one towards the counter, your teammate has to comment before your next comment counts towards the counter (ie posts that are 1/3, 2/3, and 3/3 are one comment, not three).
- The winners will NOT NECESSARILY be the first team to blaze through and hit all the obstacle counters. This is just a beginning requirement, a base. This mostly needs to be RP'ed out and most likely the winners will be made by a consensus of all those participating.

Prizes:
1st Place - A small trophy along with 5 Zap Apples, a Zap Apple pie, and a jug of Zap Apple cider
2nd Place - A ribbon along with a 3 Zap Apples and a Zap Apple pie
3rd Place - A ribbon along with 3 Zap Apples

((OOC note: This comment is to keep a list of the teams running the race, please do not reply to it.))

A table has been set up with a clipboard and paper so you can sign up you and your 'sister' (or any unsuspecting person you can grab) for the obstacle course. Nearby are stands made from wood for people to sit and watch comfortably while they cheer the participants on, comment, or just generally kick back while others run around.

((OOC note: This is just for general mingling or those looking for a teammate to still find someone))

A large banner with START painted on it is hung between poles indicating the beginning of the race. The course loops around itself so the back of the banner also says FINISH on it. A few feet away is a mud pit that is approximately waste deep to a normal human. There's enough space to make a running jump that can clear the pit. Maybe. If you're lucky. And very good at the long jump.

Baskets have been placed on this section of track in a zig-zag pattern. The point being is it is like tires set down in some obstacle courses. You need to hop back and forth between the baskets, placing a foot or hoof in each one. Shouldn't be too hard to do. Unless you have short legs.

A stack of crates have been put in your way in a pyramid like fashion. A quick jump and you can reach the top, no problem, or you can use the crates like large stairs to scale up and over.

Two small pies have been set up at a nearby table. You and your teammate must quickly eat them up before moving to the next obstacle. Human participants aren't allowed to touch the pie with their hands! Though they could pick up the tin or plate it's on. It's a pretty small pie though. Maybe you could eat it in one bite?

The finish line is in sight! All you need to do now is take an egg and a spoon from the table and cross it! Non-human characters are allowed to forgo the spoon if they balance the egg on their nose or head. Both you and your teammate need to cross the line while balancing an egg. That means you either each take an egg OR you balance one egg together and move in sync to the finish. Good luck!

[Fran mills around the sign up table, seeming interested but lacking for a sister to sign up with. Of course, it's probably best that her real sisters aren't here, but that's beside the point.

Otherwise, you might find her watching the pie eating contests...or maybe trying to take a crack at those herself.]

(Speaking of Twilight, she can be seen arranging the decorations and generally help put things all together, marking a clipboard floating around her whenever she accomplishes a task. She's here to keep everything organized and functional, after all!)

[Not signing up. Minato's mostly heard word of the Sisterhood events and is mostly there to look out for any friends of his.]

Hm... [ Rin's looking over the lists with a frown. She hasn't grown anything in her home even if she's been meaning to start a herb garden (procrastination really is her greatest friend) and eating pie? ] We're going to gain so much weight if we sign up for all of these, Sakura.

[ Addressing the girl at her side, of course. ]

If we do this, we're going on a power diet after. [ A sigh. ] Say Sakura, you're a really good cook too, right? And you're pretty good with flowers I bet since Rider works at the flower shop! If no one is looking, we can have Lancer sabotage the other entries while Rider swaps in some really neat ones for us! What do you say?

[ Sorry, Rin's only good at WINNING. ]

Hey Lancer. [ She knows he's just stalking her here, so even if she's standing by herself, she still speaks to the air around her. ] Make your lovely Master slash girlfriend a token of appreciation.

I'm not asking you to cheat. I'm just telling you how to even the odds in my favor.

[ Naturally Rin will be dragging her poor sister around with a big smile. Oh no, it is that kind of a smile. Suddenly, she'll cry out: ]

If anyone needs a beautiful model to show off their latest design, I have the perfect one right here! You won't find a prettier girl in this entire town!

[ She says all while pointing at Sakura. ENJOY THE ATTENTION, BELOVED SISTER. ]
