Warnings: Drinking and swearing, probably. Maybe some making out.

[Cade managed to hold out pretty well with the whole Welcomefield debacle. He had been prepared with food and water, managed to not be hit by any of that town's deranged denizens, and managed to not use so much healing that he'd nearly kill himself. Jenny, however, didn't fair quite as well, apparently. In the last moments, Jenny got a large chunk of her face and eye burnt off. After she's made sure that Henry is alive, Cade was rather insistent about getting her home.

(This log is set upon their return home.)

Cade unlocks the front door and is ready to help Jenny inside if she needs it, though he doubts she does.]

"Have you managed to keep that wound clean?"

[By now she's managed to bandage her wound with gauze instead of her jacket and at Cade's question her brow just raises.]

I know how to handle an injury till it heals boy.

[She pushes past him and moves straight to the booze rack that she keeps well stocked and pours herself a tall glass. She knows her accelerated healing hasn't come back yet so she'll have to deal with this as it is till it does. Even then if the wound is healed properly by time her regular metabolism might not fix what she's lost. The whole damn thing was a bloody waste and she knows it. She hates when people waste her time and the little bitch has been doing it in spades.]

Go get cleaned up and grab a bite. It's business as usual.

"I'm not hungry."

[Yes, that is a blatant lie.]

"And that wound is not going to heal on its own. You've lost your damn eye."

[Cade looks at her with clear concern, then tries to be as firm as he can with her.]

"Lay down. I'm going to heal you."

You haven't eaten in a week.

[Neither has she. She'll get to that, but more important matters first. Brandy and smoking.

She takes a drink of her glass and turns back to him, looking none too pleased with the mention of his healing ability. Yeah, she remembers what that did to her the LAST TIME they used it.]

I'm not in the mood and I'll be fine with one till I get my healing ability back.

[She knew the risks that waiting would cause, but her pride wouldn't let this dime store Romeo try that on her again. He wasn't the same and neither was she.]

[Cade's not budging.]

"Aren't you the one who is always giving me a hard time about taking unnecessary risks? If they throw something else at us soon, you are going to want to be at your best. I am going to want you at your best..."

[Cade sighs, and adds one more bit under his breath.]

"...and I don't like seeing you being hurt."

[That small comment was all it took. He sounded too much like that man from so many months ago for her to ignore it. The drink set down and she turned around.]

Fine.

[The comment was more of a growled sigh then an answer as she started unbinding her face. What was revealed was blank space. There was just nothing there. No eyeball, no socket, no nothing.]

[Cade can't mask the look of concern on his face.]

"Crap."

[He thinks very briefly about not telling Jenny, but then thinks better of it.]

"It didn't just take away your eye, it took away your eye socket."

[She reaches up to run her hand over the smooth surface of her face.]

Like defragmenting a computer pixel.

[The words are soft and slow. If someone else couldn't fix it then she was stuck this way. Her lips turned down into a dark frown.]

You saying I need to go invest in eye patches?

"I honestly don't know. I've healed eyes before but I don't know if this can be healed. I'll give you everything I've got, and I'm sure it'll grow the missing skin back, ...but I can't make any promises about the eye.

Don't go hurting yourself over it. I can survive with just one eye.

[Cade sighs.]

"I won't use any of my own life force, I promise. I'll be perfectly fine."

[Cade helps her to get comfortable on the couch.]

"Are you ready?"

[Jenny closes her eyes and starts to think of the one thing that could counteract any sexual arousal she could ever have. Henry Bendix.]

Go.

[Good look trying to hold on to that thought, Jenny, because Cade is going to try his hardest to repair this damage. His gently brushes back her hair and places his fingers on Jenny's face, then uses his Lay on Hands at full power. An incredible warm gush of indescribable pleasure flows into her, and with Jenny's level of sensitivity, it would be a herculean task to focus on anything]

[Jenny manages to hold onto the thought for a few moments before she starts to squirm from the effects. She grabs a pillow and shoves it over her mouth to muffle the noises that escape it.

This was exactly why she didn't want Cade healing her.

Her hands reach up to his hands which are on her face and grab hold, almost trying to pull them off. This healing is going to be a real struggle for the man.]

[If Cade feels like Jenny is actively resisting he will stop, but for now he will continue until she really seems to be pulling him off. The warm torrent of pleasurable energy just filled her head at first, but as he pours more into her, the sensations slowly spread further over her body.]

[And now the second hand will be needed to press the pillow more firmly over her face as she keeps squirming at the effects the magic has over her body.]

[Cade keeps the power up, until the energies have flooded every last inch of her body with the unnaturally intense sensation. Cade tries not to look at Jenny, because he's sure she'd kill him if he watched her bodily reactions too closely.]

[She very much would. At this point she's practically lost all sense of reason because of the healing. She's going to completely pretend this never happened when it's over though.]

[Cade keeps it up, ignoring any of Jenny's sounds or gyrations, until he has used up all of his white magic for today.]

"...annnd SANARE!

[Cade finishes up with a Majestic Word, then slowly pulls away his hand. Upon seeing Jenny's face, he is thrilled.]

"IT WORKED!"

[She blinked once, then twice before the fact that she had both eyes finally set in.]

So it did ...

[Cade seems to be getting more and more worked up about the whole thing. He is talking faster and more excitedly.]

"It worked! You're all right! That whole time we were there I was worried one of us might not make it back, but we did! We made it back safe and sound and you're all right!"

[At this point, Cade has reached the peak of excitement and the lowest point of rational reasoning. He grabs Jenny tightly and gives her a kiss on the lips before he can think better of it.]

[Jenny just flails and tries to smack Cade's shoulders, but she's too weak to be able to stop him.]

[Cade seems to come to his senses after a few seconds and pulls back.]

"Sorry... I guess I got a bit carried away..."

Damn right you did.

[She frowned heavily before trying to push herself off the couch, only to fall back down again.]

[Cade looks more than a little hurt and concerned.]

"Jenny..."

What?

[She's more careful about getting up this time and carefully starts making her way to the bathroom.]

"I..."

[Cade sighs. He sounds frustrated.]

"...never mind. We'll... gah...

Damnit, Jenny! Stop pretending like you don't feel a damn thing for me!"

Are you talking about what happened on the couch? That was entirely your magic.

[There was a tight glare in her eyes that almost dared him to peruse the topic further.]

"Forget the last few minutes, how about the last few months!? You get all bent out of bloody shape when I risk my neck, you get jealous when I so much as look at another woman, and don't think I haven't noticed you checking me out when you think I'm not looking!"

You're imagining things. I don't fall for womanizers.

[She didn't want to get into this now, especially now. She just wanted to take a cold shower and have a cigarette on the porch.]

"Imagining things? Womanizer? Hey, if you are worried about me being faithful, I am a trustworthy bloke! I never go back on a promise, especially if I promise to just be with one woman."

[Cade looks at Jenny intently to see if she believe him or needs more convincing.]

This entire conversation is ridiculous. I'm getting a shower.

[She doesn't even look like she's trying to hide how much she doesn't believe him.]

[Cade calls out to her before she can get too far.]

"I'll swear it right now, to the whole town! Cade Masters, off the market!"

[Cade picks up the phone.]

[Jenny's not impressed by the display. If he expects her to stop him it's not going to happen.]

"Alright then!"

[Cade picks up the phone and connects to the town.]

"Attention, citizens of Mayfield! I know this may disappoint some of you, but I must announce that I am officially off the market! I have found a woman who is strong and beautiful and intelligent, an honestly quite unlike any woman I have ever met, and so I shall be devoting every ounce of that Cade Master's passion on her!

Good day friends, may adventure and love find you, always!"
