[Previously on Mayfield Adventures, Caesar Silverberg, now evil strategist to the incredibly nefarious Legion of Doom, had become fed up with the gallivanting heroics of Garviel Loken, HERO FOR THE EMPIRE, and had devised a relatively simple plan to deal with him. Once Loken arrived, having been invited to discuss their issues with one another, he would instead throw the switch on the football field's lights and signal his allies to pulverize the pertinacious paragon.

Who will win this ferocious fight? Is this the end of the line for Garviel? Will Underground Justice be in time to save him? Will Luke and Picky be overlooked because they're so gosh darn short? Just what kind of hair product does Baron Wulfenbach use?!

[Caesar is up by the announcer box among the bleachers. He's not exactly Mr. Combat, so he doesn't plan on straying very far unless he's forced to, now that he's thrown the switch for the field's giant lights. He's content with letting his allies deal with Garviel and anyone who dares to interfere, thanks. If he had much of a sense of humor, he might even wonder why he hadn't brought popcorn.

Still, he is very much armed, so don't expect the easiest target.]

[And on the side of heroes happens to be Luke, who has shown up to the party riding on the shoulders of a giant protection golem. Gonna be pretty hard to overlook something that big, that's for sure.

He doesn't plan on holding back either.]

[Edward Nashton may not be floating into battle atop a hovering S.P.H.E.R.E., but he's dressed in the finest greens he could find, twirling a trick cane as he marches into the stadium.

It's funny; though the outfit looks somewhat different than what he's used to back home, it almost takes him back to his glory days as the Quizmaster. The days when he, Luthor, and the others fought for justice. For freedom.

He lost almost everything to the Crime Syndicate.

He won't lose again.]

(Well look who's on the side of the villains: your teacher, Kreutzer! Just as she stands opposite from you and eying your golem, she gives a hearty laugh.)

Quite the climactic turn of events, isn't it...my dear student?

[Luke bites his lower lip.]

Miss Kreutzer...

[No, he couldn't hold back. Not even for her.]

(This felt very familiar to Kreutzer. Something tells her that she was in a very similar predicament back home...

...oh that's right; her AU memories have her standing opposed to her only friend. Her real memories are all messed up thanks to the post office, but she still enjoyed this moment while she could.)

I certainly hope you're prepared, Luke; despite where we stand now, I must admit that you were a remarkable student. I will not restrain myself against you, so I expect the same exact treatment. Your life depends on this battle; treat it as such. Now come; let me teach you your final lesson!

(And so she summons a few of her Leaf dolls, having them shoot green, blade-like bullets at the golem. The shots themselves aren't very strong and the golem's defenses are very high, so this shouldn't be too much of a problem.)

[ Garviel, resplendent in his white armor, makes an entrance worthy of Evel Knievel, or maybe Jaghatai Khan himself, driving up on a TREMENDOUSLY huge combat motorcycle with huge twinned cannons on the front. He scans for Caesar, still more or less trusting that he was in fact as good as his word. The more fool him, really. By the way, he totally got here by using a nearby truck as a makeshift ramp and jumping over the field walls. JUST BECAUSE HE COULD.]

[This is the place and she sees her target down on the field. She's fought him before and isn't about to take any chances with him. With her new weapon, she'll be unstoppable. Once she's in position, she begins charging up and locking on.]

[So this was it then? Either succeed his teacher or die trying.]

I'm not going to lose!

[And Luke charges forward on the golem, the bullets striking the golem but it continues forward anyway. It takes a swing right at Kreutzer.]

[Of course he would... It wouldn't be him if he didn't enter the scene in some over-the-top, awful way. Honestly, how do people keep losing to such a predictable tool?

No matter. As soon as he lands his TREMENDOUSLY RIDICULOUS combat bike, the dark football field goes bright with the giant overhead lights. Blinding, potentially, and in this case, a deadly signal. It's only then that Caesar's voice crackles over the loudspeakers hooked up to the quaint little announcer's box.]

Punctual as always, Loken.

[What's a big fight without some banter first, right?]

[That wasn't going to last long, however. As she's waiting to charge up, a black and white Gundam steps into the area. Tieria frowned.]

Hiling Care. What do you think you are doing?

(That's about the gist of it, yes. Makes for an awesome final battle, doesn't it?

Since a swing from the giant golem would likely kill her outright, Kreutzer forces herself out of the way, trying to draw attention away from herself and onto her dolls, who continue their barrage of bullets while one of the Leaf dolls uses this moment to try to fly directly into Luke's golem. If it connects, Leaf's powerful kamikaze bomb will go off; with all of the power Kreutzer put into it, it'll take a lot more than one to bring it down, but it's still noticeable.)

[Between the bullets and the bomb, Luke's golem doesn't have enough time to move away to escape the blast. Luckily it doesn't destroy it, but it does do a nice amount of damage.

Luke on the other hand, has to be caught by the golem before he gets flung off by the explosion.]

So it would seem. So, were you serious about having a talk then, Silverberg?

[ He idles the bike, looking up and around for Caesar. ]

[There's a blur, and then Wally's next to Eddie, in full Flash gear. He hasn't worn it in a really long time, which is why he was so surprised to find it in his house. Back home he usually goes with a t-shirt with his logo on it and jeans. You know. To show solidarity with his bros without powers oppressed by the Lords. If he wore a costume and hid his identity and tried to lead the oppressed masses, he'd really be no better than the Lords.

Anyway, when he found the costume he had a strong sense of nostalgia, so he's wearing the whole thing today, including the mask, which isn't common. He hasn't bothered to hide his identity as the Flash in Mayfield, either. Still. He's heard there was going to be a showdown.

Gotta show up for a showdown.]

[She surveys the field below, making sure there wasn't anyone else in her line of fire. Gadessa has a very long range, so she can be high enough in the sky so as not to be seen from the ground.]

(All the while, Kreutzer's been busy conducting every movement of her dolls. It should be noted that when the golem swats away the dolls, they fall to the ground and harmlessly burst into green crystals. Such is the curse of being glass cannons...

...nonetheless, they're Kreutzer's only method of combat. Take down enough of them and the remaining won't be able to protect her!)

[As the golem is busy with the dolls, Luke slides down its back and charges towards his teacher with his fist raised. He couldn't just let the golem do all the work, after all.]

[Naal thinks this is the stupidest op she's ever been on. Garviel isn't exactly some chump they can just roll over, they should have just gassed him or blown him up in his sleep or mined the field or something. You know. Efficient-like. If the sisterhood could see her participating in this amateur-hour crap they would probably just kill her to spare themselves the embarrassment.

But they can't and she's getting paid to do it this way so she swallows her pride and waits for the little redheaded human to finish his grandstanding...

And then and only then does she get to take her shot. The plasma round spatters mostly harmlessly off of his helmeted brow. She'd been aiming for the eye. Stupid body.]

An ambush! What an unworthy (And entirely expected) act from you, Caesar! Well, have you you then! [ He grunts, as the plasma momentarily causes his polarization filters to go blind, and tracks the sonic signature of the plasma weapon back to the source, raising his bolter and blasting off a short burst in Naal's general direction. ]

[Her shields offer some protection from shrapnel and blast, but only some, and even though the gauntlets she was given can protect her entire profile when prone she doesn't care to test a hastily-built imitation piece against a direct hit from such a powerful weapon. Time to move.

As soon as the thunderous fire of the first burst abates she vanishes amongst the smoke and flame, erasing her image and leaping nimbly down the bleachers. Getting closer is not ideal but unfortunately the shape of stadium doesn't allow her to gain the sort of distance where her weapon would be at a distinct advantage. If she dies she's definitely going to kill Caesar when she comes back.]

[Wally comes from a world much like his, it seems. A world where so-called Gods rule mercilessly over innocent people. But unlike dear ol' Johnny Quick, this speedster still knows the true meaning of "justice."

Edward nods in greeting, offering a grim smirk.]

Flash. What kept you?

[ Loken meets the charge with one of his own, lowering the bolter and running uphill with transhuman speed, clearly trying to shoulder smash her down to the ground for a non-lethal knockout as he lowers his right shoulder towards her like a huge battering ram of flesh and ceramite. ]

[Flash grins and plucks at the suit.]

Had to remember how this thing went on. Can't even remember the last time I wore it.

[Actually he can. It was when Lex Luthor almost killed him.]

[The loudspeakers are unnecessary, it feels, and so Caesar abandons the announcer controls to step outside that box and into the stands themselves.]

I was, but I'm afraid it'll be a very short one.
