[The Doctor is taking a risk. He's decided to venture out into the pollen filled park and have a rest in the grass.

He'd bothered Amy and Rory to come with him, but received no reply on their end. He hadn't wanted to rest. He'd wanted to play. But playing was no fun at all when you're alone. He'd certainly tried. He climbed up to the top of the playground and had a go at the swings.

But it was all too quiet and boring.

So sulking, he'd flopped onto the grass and found himself more sleepy than expected. He was in a light t-shirt and jeans and the sun quickly warmed his body and put him into a comfortable daze.]

[ Oh, bother bother bother, all the bothering.

Rory's just not a jungle gym kind of man. It always seemed to end in bruising of varying severity. But he still comes down to the park, if a bit later than the Doctor had had in mind when he'd been doing all that pestering. And then, after all that bother and ruckus-raising, he's just sort of flopped out in the sun. Probably just as well that Rory brought a stupid old-timey mystery novel with him. It was between that, romance or car manuals, and quite frankly he's got his tastes.

But, you know, being out while nothing particularly deadly is looming over them, in the sun, in the spring... not a bad idea at all.

Idly flopping into a sitting position next to you there, bro, and sparing a dubious look. ]

[Cracks an eye open at him.]

Couldn't be bothered to answer when I called.

Hey, I'm here, aren't I? [ Not dying. Awesome. ] I don't just drop everything to come play in the park because you want me to. That's not how it works.

[Rolls onto his stomach, sniffling a little, and gives Rory one of his looks.]

Of course that's how it works. How else does it work.

You... ask. And then we go and do it. After we decide to do it. If we decide to do it. [ Unless it's a TARDIS blue invitation after three months of radio silence. Maybe. Probably.

He just doesn't want to say "well yes of course we drop everything to go on adventures with you" because then the Doctor completely wins this conversation. :I ]

How was I supposed to know it was forbidden? [ We were all thinking she had a lovely palace and he thought it would be polite to mention. ] They could mention that when you first walk in. "Please don't talk to our queen, by the way, we'll have to execute you."

I can't give a field guide for all of time and space! That's what makes it exciting it's... all of time and space! Wild, open, and untamed!

Untamed and deadly! [ Like a terrifying space safari. ] I mean yeah, fun and adventurous, but mostly danger and running away from it.

[ He would point at the Doctor to emphasize his point, but that would be way too much effort for being flopped on the ground. ]

Danger is part of the package. If I showed you nothing but waterfalls and parks it would get boring.

Actually, it'd be boring the first time.

I wouldn't mind waterfalls and parks. This is a park, and it's not bad. It's all about the ones you pick, isn't it?

[Looking at you like he wants to roll over and barf on your face.]

[Okay, well he will roll over and prop himself up so he's crouched over Rory so he can GLARE PROPERLY INTO HIS EYES SO THE ROMAN KNOWS WHAT GRAVE SIN HE HAS COMMITED.]

No one wants just parks and waterfalls. [ Drama Lord. ] To just want parks and waterfalls I'd have to have seen a few of them and decided I wanted just parks and waterfalls.

There's plenty of those on Earth if you're curious.

...I bet there are really insane space waterfalls, aren't there? Or, well, probably without the water. [ Now he's curious, damn it.

But mostly just being a brat for the sake of being a brat. One of those ways humans pass the time. ]

[Rolls over to face him, eyes glinting with that childlike excitement that the Doctor always seems to keep hidden just under the surface.]

There's one where it's actually a waterfall of pure diamond. And another one that's pure honey, but that's a planet of very large bees so if you have allergies to bee stings I would suggest avoiding it.

[ Aha!! He knew it. ]

I'm not allergic to bee stings. [ ...hm. ] Can I claim to be allergic to death by bee stings, though?

Just thought I'd try asking. [ He shrugs. Probably wouldn't actually get killed by giant bees. He's not that unlucky, right?
