With no supplies, they can't send out attack parties. Without bases, they have to spend resources on rebuilding, rather than further invasions. And without using an army on our part, we save lives and keep innocent planets out of it.

Plus: it symbolizes our dreams: to live free and not be under somebody's boot. We do what we want, and if people look down on us because of it...so what?
