The familiar really hadn't meant to let her current pain, her panic, seep into the link she and Fate had, but perhaps it was foolish of her to believe she could ever shield her master from what was happening to her.

Arf altered her path when she heard Fate and didn't even slow down, practically barreling right into her master. Blood dripped freely down from both sides of her mouth, her hide split to show her teeth, muscle and even a few spots of her jaw bone.
