Garviel is indeed home, opening the door for her, and gestures her in without a word. He is armored, as always, and his eyes are very flat once she enters. He's not angry just shocked, obviously coming to terms with his own failure, the fact that he didn't free Sanguinius, and that he has doomed his dearest friends to a slow, suffering death.
