Feb 13th, Morning

[ Flowers were awesome. There's no two ways about it. Any holiday that features them heavily is high up on her list of days of the year she appreciates, and the fact the town is providing them so readily, so plentifully, and completely free of charge? That is music to Meiling's ears.

And music to her body, apparently, for she hasn't ceased humming since she woke up and took a whiff of the bouquet she found downstairs. It's such an odd arrangement, but she doesn't bother to critique the selection. Instead, she picks out a few choice flowers and brings them up as she knocks gently on one of the bedroom doors. ]

Patchouli, are you awake? I have a surprise for you! [ And boy does she EVER. ]

Feb 13th, Noon

[ Having enjoyed a lovely morning, Meiling was off to get some fresh air. Work could wait; today was a beautiful day, and there were just as many flowers around outdoors as they were indoors. She just wanted to share the day with as many of her dear friends as she could, so where better to start than with her most-trusted one?

Meiling landed on the doorstep to 1647 Albright Lane, a small basket clutched in her hands. She's wearing her warmer dress, the one without the long sleeves and slacks, and is clutching a basket in her hands. Inside are several flowers all neatly arranged on a bed of bright green mint leaves. They aren't exactly floral, but she thought it brought out the colors well.

She rocked back and forth, waiting for someone to answer~ ]

[The door opens promptly, as always, and Sakuya smiles as she sees who's there. She gestures for Meiling to come inside. The first thing she'll see is a bouquet of irises set up on her coffee table. She couldn't resist, not with how pretty they were.]

It's good to see you back up and about, Meiling. I've been worried sick, because I don't want to lose anyone I care about so much. So it's really good to have you back and yourself again.

So, to what do I owe the pleasure of the visit?

Mm... -Patchouli's voice sounds from the other side. Patchouli fought off the waking world just a moment longer before sitting up, groping about for her glasses.-

Feb SOMETIME??? For Meiling and Flan

[Really, there's nothing strange about the two little vampires hanging around at Patchy and Meiling's house; especially with Koakuma there now, half the family lived there. So it was in the kitchen that the Scarlet sisters were taking (Chinese) tea, waited on by the gate guard. Less usual was the smirk on Remilia's lips and the way her eyes followed the youkai around the room. Oh, yes, someone had been into the mint today.]

Meiling.

[Flandre was sitting next to her sister, as usual.

...perhaps a bit closer than usual. But her sister's presence is making her calm and happy, so seated she stays.

Though when Remilia calls Meiling's name, Flandre looks up too.]

[ She smiled wide, but waved off the concern with a free hand, resisting the urge to scratch at the scars on her throat. ] I'm sorry you worried so much. [ As for whether or not she was "herself", well.. that was another matter that she doesn't get into. It's not as if it isn't obvious that this town's incidents were slowly changing her outlook on life, but she would still like to think that she's Meiling through-and-through. ]

[ She spies those flowers and makes a tiny excited sound, handing the basket off to the maid as she steps in. ] I was going to ask if you saw all the flowers going around, but it looks like I'm a little late for that!

[ The door opened with a click and Meiling leaned in to give Patchouli an excited smile before stepping in. ] Good morning~ Did you sleep well? You won't believe what I...

[ She steps dead in her tracks, a curious expression on her face. ] Found. This morning... [ Huh. That was kind of odd warmth that suddenly came over her. Was it the heater in the room, or something else? It should not be radiating from inside her chest, though, if that's the case, but her skin.

Oh well. Meiling pushes that thought aside and sits on the edge of the bed. ] It's flowers, and they're everywhere! [ She presents Patchouli with the selection from the bouquet for appraisal. ]

Hm? [ It's still a while before she has everything ready for supper, hence starting with the tea. She casts a look over her shoulder to the table. ] Yes, Remilia? [ Maybe it's a bold habit to get into, but she's started referring to her more familiarly than simply "Miss" this and "mistress" that. It could be because they don't live in the same house. It could be that they're all equals in this town, despite the roles they've been pushed into. ]

Flowers? ... Are you certain they're not poison? If they were suddenly here, then it was obviously Mayfield's doing.

I know my flowers, Patchouli, and I feel fine! The roses don't even have thorns, see?

So it seems... -Though she still had a suspicious look as she leaned forward, her glasses sliding down her nose just slightly.-

[ It's a cute look. Meiling giggles a bit and holds the flowers up closer. ] They smell really nice, too. It kind of reminds me of that nice bath soap you use. [ The one that Meiling cares little for because her skin feels weird when it's so smooth. ]

-Patchouli backed away just slightly, not wanting to overwhelm herself with scent.- Ah... they do, actually.

[ She pulled them away. ] Ah, sorry. I guess I'm just too excited. [ Meiling reaches up and very gently pushes Patchy's glasses up a bit before getting up off of the bed. ] I'll just put these up by the window for now, and later, we can put them in some vases! I'll have to buy more later today to have room for them all.

-O-oh. That was an awfully intimate gesture. Why the hell was she blushing.- Is there really that many?

[ Ahh, what a cute face. Meiling takes a moment to enjoy it before she realizes that question was directed at her! ] A-ah, yeah! A whole bunch! I swear it's like every time I turned around there were more.

But it's fine if they're harmless, right? If they start taking over the whole house, I'll just get my trimmers and show them who's boss. [ Said with a wink. ] Or, in this case, who's the gardener.

Sssh, don't worry. I'm not upset about it. [Sakuya smiles, stepping a little closer.] It's all right now, and that's the important thing.

[She positively grins as she looks at the basket's contents.] I hadn't seen these! Just the irises that popped up in the backyard. Oh, they're lovely!

Well that's good! [ She leans in and inhales deeply. The flowers smell lovely, just as the others.

Of course, they also manage to find what little exists of Meiling's brain-to-mouth filter and shut it down completely. ] Because upsetting you is one of the worst things I can think of to do, even if it's not my fault.

[ Standing up again, she waves her hand, cheeks reddening. ] Oh stop, Sakuya, you're making me blush!

Mm... I suppose I will leave this matter to you, then. -She found herself laying back down, sighing.-

But... you didn't have to get any for me, you know.

I didn't want you to be upset if you came downstairs and saw the living room decorated like that. [ Artfully arranged, she might add.

Meiling is finished at the window, so she resumes sitting at the foot of the bed. ] Besides, I thought they'd be more special if I was the one to bring them to you, instead.

I know it isn't. I know. I'm sorry for all the times I've overreacted to things. I don't like upsetting you, either, and I know I do...

[That gesture? It starts Sakuya blushing.]

But you're cute when you blush...

[ That just makes her blush more. ] And I'm sorry for the all the times I messed up and made you react.

[ Suddenly, she laughs. ] We're just going to keep going around in circles with guilt, huh?
