Who: Nations, but spearheaded by gezellig (The Netherlands), british_things (England), and besame  (Spain)
What: Claiming parts of Mayfield like it's the 17th century, among other things.
Where: All over town.
When: March 4th
Warnings: Possible violence, ridiculousnes, also drunken countries who are mostly named England


[OOC: This log is open to everybody.  Basically, the nations some nations will attempt to claim parts of Mayfield, it's resources, shops and possibly citizenry.  And generally acting ridiculous, which is nothing new.]

England decided to start claiming other countries. At least, that's why I'm doing this. I don't know why he started it.

I'm guessing that isn't normal for him?

[He's really guessing, he has no idea what they're like.]

Not anymore. When he was younger it happened all the time. I think most people from places like Earth would have heard of the British Empire.

Yes, it seems a lot stranger when you're talking about people.

I meant for him in this town.

Well, I think he's only arrived again recently, but before today no one was claiming any streets at all.

....is there any reason to claim the street? It doesn't seem...legal either.

We're countries. Countries should have territory.

[This makes sense to him today.]

Yes, I understand that. But you do realize we're currently living in a town where we don't even know if the land is...real.

Yes, but I don't want to be the only one without territory if we're going to be splitting it up all of the sudden. A lot of Europe is here, after all.

[Therefore if you blink you could suddenly be missing every inch of land and ninety percent of your valuables.]

Why? What happens if you don't? It's not like you really own it. The people who control the town do.

Things will become more difficult between us countries if we don't all stand up for ourselves when we have to.

So it's not about the land, but the idea of control?

[vytis]

Yes, I suppose it's like that. I mean, this is Mayfield. Even if it is real, I don't want it, bu I don't want other countries taking control of me, either.

That makes sense.

So are they just trying to take control of other countries or people in the town as well?

[vytis]

I'm not really sure. I think some might be trying to claim citizens, too.

I suppose since I'm claiming the street I'm claiming everyone on it as well, but I don't mind if they do what they want, as long as they're not countries trying to take over.

That will be interesting. I wonder how they will take to people who don't want to be their citizens.

It probably depends on the country, honestly.

[Lithuania was far more concerned with the other countries; if anyone on his street didn't want to call themselves Lithuanian it didn't really matter to him.]

I imagine some wouldn't take it well.
