Who: Annie Goldstein, Sara Mudou, The Major
When: idk aroundish this week sometime
Where: Sara's house and then Casa Fuck-Up
What: Annie ate Sara in a non-sexy way during the Break event. They talk about it. The Major finds out. This is the opposite of a positive outcome.
Warnings: The Major. Annie. Mentions of cannibalism. None of these are good things.

Annie has spent the larger part of a half hour pacing outside of Sara's house, wondering if she should knock on the door or not. How does she even go about doing this? "Hey, sorry for, like, eating you and shit, are we still bros?" That probably wasn't going to fly. But, she'll never find out if she keeps standing out here like a fucking idiot.

... So, she throws a rock at the door.

Best idea.

As much as you must be praying he isn't there each time you enter the house Annie, he is. The Major is home by the point Annie returns, nursing a cup of coffee at the kitchen table. He's mercifully quiet for a moment, giving the indication that for once he might ignore Annie.

But of course, he can't let someone he hates go unnoticed.

"Oh. Back so soon? How fortunate."

"Oh no, I'm quite a light sleeper. I tend to wander the house quite a bit, at night."

There's knowing where you live like the back of your hand, and then there's the way the Major knows this house. In most cases, it would be an exaggeration to say someone knows every inch, every cranny and nook of a place.

In the Major's case, it's debatable just how much exaggeration that would be.

"I'm astounded you come back some nights, to be quite fair. Even the girl has figured out she doesn't need to be here every night.

Or do you merely have no friends to go back to?"

"You seem to think I care if you fear me or not girl."

It isn't a complete lie. While the Major loves to be feared, it's an ancillary goal, even with Annie. He hates her; truly hates her, and that's abnormal for him. And he does want her out of the house, wants her out of his face, but he won't admit to that. Not in open, not to her. That would be like handing her a small victory.

"But I am curious.

How did she taste?"

The smile on the Major's face is small, loose. Almost to the point where it might appear genuine in being serene or even good natured. His tone is even, shying away from even his usual condescension as he speaks.

"I don't see why you're so angry. It's not as if you've done anything wrong, according to your own moral code."

He just takes a drink of his coffee, swirling the cup around a bit before putting it down. He crosses his fingers in front of him, laying his chin on them.

"Explain then. What is the difference between this murder and the murders you committed in May and claimed to have no guilt from?"

"You're right, you don't!"

The Major leans back in his chair, the wood giving a creak at the shifting of his weight on it.

"It doesn't change the fact you did, did you? And yet, such things shouldn't bother a monster, now should they?

They're but a part of your nature, in the end. Maybe it was an outside force guiding you this time.

But it's ultimately what you are, regardless."

The Major keeps his eyes on Annie, the corners of his fat lips twitching. Just twitching, ever so slightly. A herald, to the sound that proceeds to echo through the room. Soft at first, a wheezing almost, before getting higher and higher.

Laughter is something that comes easily to the Major. It always has, and always will. But right now it seems a little madder at most. And it's hard to tell why that is. If it's just a sign of his cruelty, his derangement.

Or if that statement is just too damn funny, Annie.

[personal profile] sturmbahnfuhrer 2012-02-27 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
His laughing dies down, not out of fear but in forcing himself to calm down so he can answer.

"Well.

I suppose you might say I had a little help from my friends."

[personal profile] sturmbahnfuhrer 2012-02-27 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
"I do. But if you have no intention of telling me yours, I have no reason to tell you mine."

[personal profile] sturmbahnfuhrer 2012-02-27 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
"But I shouldn't know your friends?

My, how unfair!"

[personal profile] sturmbahnfuhrer 2012-02-27 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
"But you've done quite a bit to me, haven't you?

And the actions you may take against me? Apply to all those you know, as well."

[personal profile] sturmbahnfuhrer 2012-02-27 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
"Ah. Therein lies the trick, one could say, the double edged sword of friendship.

What you do reflects upon those who associate with you as well, Annie. And it provides me with a knowledge of who you care about. You've allowed yourself to have an opening in your already...rather fragile armor!

I would be a fool not to strike at it, if it should ever suit me, would I not?"

"Do you think I care?"
